Best air cleaner housings for DIY dual snorkel
I have looked over several DIY's for making an L69- type dual snorkel but still a bit confused.
So can a slightly larger housing (thus more air flow) from a late 70's GM be used without any hood clearance issues? If so, what about the thermostatic control that's on the stock snorkel?
Or best to go with any early 80's GM air filter housing that fits on top of a q-jet?
Thanks, I just want to get the best airflow. I tink this could be a fun mod!

Re: Best air cleaner housings for DIY dual snorkel
The dual L69 cleaner main housing is quite similar to the 70s Q-jet stuff.
Trucks and G-bodies got a taller lid and filter. So try out the other single snorkel stuff with a thirdgen lid and mod. with larger, dual snorks.
I have had the dual snorkel air cleaners and if I wanted one again, I would probably use my stock G-body cleaner with a second snork. The angle of the duals should be verified for your fitment.
