Hello, well cutting to the chase, i'm going here in a couple days to look at at a 89 iroc. The guy said it'll run and drive but the heads are clogged (which ive never heard or seen) and he lost the key. So, i believe the 89 doesn't have the resistor in the key, or am i wrong? If not can i simply just senf 12v to the coil and jump the starter to start it? I understand the wheel will be locked but i just wana hear it run.

 

89's have VATS. You will have to bypass the VATS module, And if you do that, you will need to know the resistance.
