Actually i have, I know a guy with a built 350 that he had in his vette and pulled after he got tboned by another car totaling his vette. I believe he said he was making close to 600hp on nos and just under 500hp without. He said he would detune it in my car because he had it running really rich in his vette and would have to pedal it to keep it running.
Thats about all the looking ive done, im going to have to swap a lot on my car to do it correctly, probably going to do a v8 harness swap too if i go that route so we don't have to worry about wiring problems. I really dont know much about it but i think im going to have to change my K-member, tranny, rear, harness, dash?, front springs and struts?
More info would help. Especially with pricing and time as factors as this is going to be my daily driver soon.
You shouldn't have to change anything except engine mounts and tranny. My last 3rd gen was a base 88 converted to v8 with carb.

Lol, once the swap is done it wont be my daily anymore, the idea is to get another car, and take my camaro off the road for the motor swap. And i would prefer to do fuel injected with the new motor. Are there any other pros to that other than easy supercharging or turbo?
All I can tell you is it would be easy to swap over to a v8 using a third gen style fuel injection (tbi,tpi). As for aftermarket, I've never done it, but I'm betting it's not that difficult. If you were to use a tbi or tpi system you would have to have custom tuning if you're running an aftermarket cam/performance engine. Both systems have their limits. There's lots of info on them online.

Thank you, I will consider all options when the time comes, until then im just worried about appearance and upkeep of what i already have. Car is 100% rust free now btw.
So i got the A/C in my car fixed this week, cost me $175 and the shop did the conversion from R12 to R134A, they installed the Retro Fir kit, they found the leak, and they charged the system. Next week is paint time for the body(everything except the hood because the hood is not done body work yet). The next set of pictures will be the car going to paint, and then the car after its painted and 100%.
After finally getting the car done with the new hood fitted and then painted, it was decided my car would be driven on the move to florida, unfortunately my car didn't make it... well completely together anyways Driving down the highway at 70mph and woosh half of my hood rips off and flies like a saucer to the shoulder. $900 down the drain.
Yes the top just flew off leaving the bottom portion exposed, and Dave i tried before when i received the hood and it was damaged on one of the corners but they screwed me over. So i paid $600 for the hood, and $300 for body work from a FRIEND, not even a company which results in a $900 hood that was a POS. Looking into some glass shops to see if they can fix it and install some steel braces inside of the hood to keep it from bowing in the middle anymore, it all depends on the cost of the repair.
So i ended up finding a glass shop which took on the project, after they glassed the hood together and relized how far off they were, it was advised that I just get a factory metal hood and cut off the scoops(i would buy new ones as mine are severely damaged) and have them put on the metal hood since fitment and form is going to be such a problem with this one.... 300 dollars later, almost 2 months, and still no hood. Will be getting a metal hood and have it painted until Im able to get some afford this project.
Soooo here's an update, the glass shop messed up and gave up on the hood. I got a busted steel hood to use temporarily, and am currently looking at another RAII hood that i found someone selling(he has driven it on the car for a while then took it off for a cowl so it shouldn't come apart for me). Hopefully everything checks out with that RAII. Now i had though about a motor swap one day to a V8, but a lot of people do that.... so what about building the V6? First thing i would do is convert it to TBI, then maybe some pacesetter headers, then go from there(turbo? Luntai cam?, Heads?, Pacesetter headers?). I found this kit online, let me know what you guys thing. Any input is appreciated, but do you guys think i could switch to the TBI rather easily using this kit? or keep the Carb? or what? I really have no idea about this stuff but from what i've read it ideally will work for my 6 banger.
I just feel like a v8 swap costs a lot more than i want to spend. I'm not really worried about the time it takes because i wouldn't do it until I had another daily. Am i mistaking on the cost of a v8 swap?
v8 swap isn't expensive. I wouldn't put any money in to the 6, myself. Try to find a wrecked v8 car that has everything you need and swap it over.
What is under the "everything needed" area. Obviously motor, carb, trans, radiator id probably buy a tubular k-member because i hear they make swaps easier in other posts, but wiring worries me.... also what about my AC and heat because i want to keep those
Update time, FINALLY got another hood for the car, attempted having the old one fixed which didn't work out, then bought a junker from an lkq, didn't work out, then found this old RAII a few hours away and scooped it up for half the price of my RAII that broke, this one is older and looks and feels of higher quality(almost sounds like metal when knocking on it) and it fits perfect with no extra work needed like before. Very excited to get it painted, Also re did the undercoating inside the rear wheel wells, might pull the front wheels and do them as well. I also had some seatbelt troubles so i ended up replacing the spring in my passenger seatbelt so now it doesn't sag anymore and actually retracts, and now my driver side sags. While i had the headliner out i noticed the top was scorched black from contact with the roof so instead of spending tons on dynomax i bought some aluminum backed sticky adhesive window flashing which worked GREAT and only cost me around 11 dollars instead of hundreds. Also might have found the front valance pieces i was looking for, and the rear diffuser? i was looking for. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what it is called and where i can get one from(picture below of the black car). So here are a couple pictures

Thank you dave, this hood does not give at all, it pops when the latch is pulled, it closes like to should, gaps all line up, and it is super sturdy and has vent holes underneath so it is somewhat functional unlike my previous hood. Only paid $325 for it and gas money. But gas wasn't too bad when we took a mustang pulling a utility trailer XD XD. Got plenty of funny faces and "That's a first for sure!"

Are you talking about the thing on top of the hatch? Smoked plastic piece? If so, that's called a "Solar Wing". Not a fan, but I'm certain they are still made. ~~maybe this?~~

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Here is a small update on my car, i got a Bass Link sub system and some nice smoked marker lenses for Christmas. No pictures of the smoked lights yet but you guys have an idea, the sub system is great and provides more than enough bass(a lot of extra to rattle some windows too!!) Its a nice system, very simple, ran my 4 line-level RCS's from my head unit, along with 12v switched from my head unit, a main power from the battery, and a ground wire to anywhere on the body(trunk latch brace in this case). I wire loomed EVERYTHING including to the back of the radio and through the firewall to the battery. I am more than pleased and the remote level control is very convenient. The system fits perfect in the trunk with enough room to change the controls on the unit without being uncomfortable. Here are some pictures, if you guys have any questions feel free to ask!
PS I have also cleaned the interior and it does not look chalky anymore(thanks pledge!) and i have installed the original ash tray(just needed to be painted and the replacement didn't fit very well) and i have a replacement shift **** im just a little concerned with swapping it as it uses a c-clip and i don't have any extra so i have to get that one off without damaging it thus causing my procrastination

As far as i know all 3rd gen hoods fit for 82-92, however some people have high rise carbs and need a taller hood. That is not stock though... Someone correct me if i am wrong.
Got my new hood on and painted, also got some smoked tail light covers for her. Now its time for a motor swap. I need to start sourcing parts, starting with a motor. Anyone have a cheap LS, 5.3/6.0?
