Test Fit Fifteen52 Tarmac 19x9.5's 91Bird

"G'day" from Down Under in 2017.

Fit well, but I'm thinking a bit unconventional. Hard to get away from the std mesh look.

I need to decide what to put them on before I buy tires.

Opinions? Thanks!

Yes... yes... yes...

I would recommend a different color though. I feel like the white vs. white would only work if they were an exact match.

With a nice tire on there, preferably not stretched and slammed, I think it would look killer. Worse case you can send them my way! Haha. Goodluck!

Re: Test Fit Fifteen52 Tarmac 19x9.5's 91Bird

Thanks for the comments/ideas.

Probably 285/40/19 tires all round.

Color, I agree. I'm going to try a satin/semi gloss clear coat over the top, to try and dull the white off a bit. Otherwise I will have them powder coated charcoal grey or black.

I must say, it's quite handy having ThirdGens and Fifteen52 Wheels on Forza3Horizon!

they look like an updated Ronal Firehawk wheel.....

I am not a fan of the white on white either, but its not my car.

285-40-19 tires are about 2" larger in diameter than the 245-50-16 tires on your car now.

The size to keep the same overall diameter is a 285-30-19, a very small sidewall tire...

Like. Looks good to me. I'd start with a 285/35R19.

Re: Test Fit Fifteen52 Tarmac 19x9.5's 91Bird

For 19 a 35 series is perfect

I ran 35 on my 19s ride was good

Taller tire really fills in wheel well nice

Re: Test Fit Fifteen52 Tarmac 19x9.5's 91Bird

Tires are an interesting head ache to say the least!

Width, 275 or 285. Square look, no stretch. Done.

35's or 40's.

Seriously thinking of 40's

Not worried about the performance/results of changing diameter. Ratio, speedo etc.

Zach, thanks for the photo and yes your Camaro is/was (? sorry to hear) looking the goods for sure (esp. in black). When comparing, I don't quite think I am as low as you. I'm running lowered Vogtland Springs, not really wanting to go lower - roads are hell rough around here. So to fill my guards I'm thinking the slightly taller 40 (when compared).

I appreciate all of your comments.

Mike.

Re: Test Fit Fifteen52 Tarmac 19x9.5's 91Bird

A 275/40R19 will probably hit something at full steering, and that's even more likely with a 285/40R19. Before you commit to a full set, start with one and check it. You might end up with 40s on the rear and 35s on the front. I'd do 35s all around.
Whatever you end up with, we want pics.

Re: Test Fit Fifteen52 Tarmac 19x9.5's 91Bird

You have rub at full lock on 40 which isn't killer and 275 would be perfect tire and more selections for tire you will have rubbing in inner wheel well area on hard bumps in rear and then in front with splash guard removing will provide more clearance and possible rubbing where front fender is butt together to inner wheel well frame

Yes this springs are 1.5 inch lowering I had weight jack setup so height was adjustable

Re: Test Fit Fifteen52 Tarmac 19x9.5's 91Bird

Right, point taken on the potential 35s vs 40s inner rubbing issue.

Although it looked OK, I will re-investigate the fitment (or potential fitment) that I have before I blow some coin on tires. To the point where I'm going to borrow some 19s from another car and mock them up in the same position, they're 19x8.5 255/40.

Many thanks for the suggestions.

Mike.

Re: Test Fit Fifteen52 Tarmac 19x9.5's 91Bird

If you find, or can hammer, at least 19 mm of clearance between the outboard rear edge of the 255/40R19 and the wheelwell, then the 275/40R19 can be made to clear. If you can't make that much clearance, then order 35s, IMO.

Re: Test Fit Fifteen52 Tarmac 19x9.5's 91Bird

Clearance is not the issue it's when suspension travel you will rub 35 series is already a taller tire a 40 is even taller

Awesome! Put them on your bird. I love the tarmacs, but I think its a wheel best pulled off by a Firebird.

They might look interesting in a matte gold or bronze. Perhaps the BBS paint coat gold with a satin coat?

Your Forza pic seals the deal.

Not visually what I expect ( I am used to some dish like a mesh OEM 16") but it pulls it off great.

Re: Test Fit Fifteen52 Tarmac 19x9.5's 91Bird

What is the offset on these wheels? I am seriously considering putting the 18x9.5 Tarmscs on my '89 Camaro after I run through the tires on my current set of wheels.

Custom Adaptor from http://www.motorsport-tech.com/

I have a couple of Nissans as well that can run these wheels, hence the 114.3 pcd.

I think 120.65 is possible from fifteen52, probably more $$$$$ though.

Re: Test Fit Fifteen52 Tarmac 19x9.5's 91Bird

I bought multipe adapters from them even 120.65 to 114.3 best adapters smoother than eBay and better quality and lifetime warranty can make hub and lug centric ran as small as 1/2 in bolt on adapter so trust it's all worth the price and there fast and very helpful
