small cap distributor

hey guys,

id like to switch over from big to small cap distributor ( its an 89 vette) to give more room for my miniram, its tight back there. I can buy the wiring harness but as far as the external coil seems like they don't come with a bracket, guess you reuse your old one which I obviously don't have. don't really see them advertised. anyone have a pic where the coil mounts to? I probably wont be able to mount in stock location anyway because of miniram. last question lots of cheap distributors on ebay, stay away from them ? is a DUI one worth the extra $150. car runs great with stock big cap so don't really think I need any expensive MSD etc ones

thanks

Re: small cap distributor

the coil bracket is like 2 small pieces of L shaped metal with a hook on each end that the bolt runs through. wouldnt be hard to fabricate up

Re: small cap distributor

this is for a tpi motor, not TBI. but thanks for the pic anyway i'm seeing distributors with caps with brass contacts for $39.99 free shipping on ebay , you know the story if it sounds to good to be true it isn't, which is why I asked if anyone had bad luck with the Chinese crap.

Re: small cap distributor

The TPI coil brackets from a F-body bolt to the intake bolts over the #8 intake port, right where the Y-body has the EGR port.

Re: small cap distributor

I've purchased a few small caps that were mis-firey right out of the box. recommend getting one through a local retailer for return ease, jic.
