How do You Disconnect the Negative Terminal on the Battery?

I know GM cars have nuts on them that have to be loosed to disconnect the battery. But I can't get the nut to loosen or find anything that fits. I've tried an adjustable wrench and 3/8's wrench and nether will get it to budge.

I can't fit a ratchet down there either because the wheel well is in the way.

I know the battery isn't corroded because AAA replaced it a few months ago.

They are suppose to be 5/16 head bolts. Use a box end wrench or ratcheting wrench.
If yours is damaged remove the positive cable and use vice grip pliers to remove the bolt.

5/16s ended up working. It was on their super tight and it took me a few minutes but I finally got it.

I saw a youtube video where a guy with a GMC said it was 5/8s (I think he meant to say 5/16).

I use a large pair of needle-nose vise-grip pliers.
