Jay123's 1991 Firebird Thread...

Hey guys, Ive been a member for a little while now and I figured it was time for me to start a thread for my 1991 Firebird.

I bought the car off of kijiji a few months ago and have been slow but steadily fixing it up. I have always been a bigger fan of the camaro but I couldnt refuse the deal I got on this car.

Heres a but about the car and what I have done so far.

Its a 305 TBI with a T5 and 3:08 ? {I think} rear end gears.

Trans am tail light swap.

When I got the car it had no carpet in it, I repainted the floor and put in carpet that I made myself, cost me 40 bux.

I put in LED reverse light bulbs as well as replaced all of the interior bulbs with blue led lighting. I even added a maplight/console lighting above the head unit..

I've put on exhaust from the firewall back, made up of piping I had laying around the garage. It has glasspacks and straight pipes, no CATS. Fully welded.

I extended the smog pump tube that runs to the CAT to exit at the rear of the vehicle as well, after further research on this site I'm not sure why I did that, but at that time I was trying to get rid of an exhaust smell problem. Someday I will do the smog pump delete.

I've added/replaced alot of the interior hardware with new stainless stuff. I swapped out the piller clips for stainless hardware as well and added a fake centre bolt for looks.

Yesterday I finished installing a stereo setup which includes 2 , 10 inch kenwood tornado subs, as well as a 600 watt {underrated} amp. I made the box myself out of 2 single 10 inch sub boxes I had laying around and made a front panel for it out of 1/4 inch aluminum. Hits hard. I also added a Sirrus radio that came with the car but I am yet to get it working, I made a mount plate for the radio stuff and mounted it in the lock compartment on the rear drivers side. Anyone know how to wire one of these up? I think I got it right but it would be good to know for sure.

It came with 2 sets of t-tops. one glass, one plastic, I currently use the plastic ones as the weather stripping on the glass ones isnt in very good shape and leaks, Anyone know where I can get a set of these online in Canada?

Ive done an oil change, new spark plugs, new trans fluid, both new inner and outer wheel bearings since I have got it. As well as tons of little things I forgotten about, lol

I have had the car now for about 3 months and have only put about 300 KM's on it . So i spend way more time working on it than I do driving it, Ill post some pics of how its looking so far..
