Hey everyone, first off I just want to say this is not my car. I saw this picture a few years ago and loved the color. I'm about to paint mine and would like to match this orange, I'm thinking either sunburst orange or Daytona sunset orange would be closest. However many of the pictures I have seen in the sunlight seem to have a bright yellow/gold look to it. My question is would painting over a black base coat tame down this effect? I've read that this is done with candy paints but not sure if it would do this with metallic. Also open to other suggestions.

 

Can't tell 100% by the picture, but it really looks like the same color as my Truck.
Dodge Ram Daytona in GoMango. Google that.
My truck looks darker like this picture when the sun is hiding. When the sun is out it looks a lot lighter color and it's very vibrant.

 

Thanks, it does look similar. I know it's going to vary in the light, just wish I could get it to look in the sunlight the way it does in the shade. But either way I still like the color, I think that's what I'm going with. I appreciate your help.

 

A good body shop should have no problem matching that. Ive brought a vehicle in and they were able to use a program to scan and mix the correct colors to match.
