T-Top Moulding

The rubber trim around the t-top, not the outer sweep but the rubber that actually sits in the body channels when inserted, needs replacing. I am not sure what to look for. All I know is we had a hot day and it was outside under the sun at my mechanics place and when I took the tops off the glue had melted and made an awful mess. I am not sure the best way to replace them (Cut each piece separately, 1 full piece with relief cuts or?) or if I should just use normal auto body trim and glue?

Any help would be appreciated Thanks!

Re: T-Top Moulding

I don't need the outer sweeps. I need the rubber going around the actual T-Top Panel.

Re: T-Top Moulding

That looks like door edge guard molding around the glass. I never seen that before in my life

Right, nothing, except on the acrylic/lexan t-tops. Great for chipping edges and burning your hands while handling them. IMO pretty dumb that they didn't put anything on there since all the 1979-82 Corvettes with glass t-tops had rubber on the edges, and 1993-02 F-Bodies have them. Guess they just decided to cheap out on our third gens.

IIRC, they *might* have put something like that on the 1982-83s though.

Re: T-Top Moulding

If they did put something on the 82-84, and ya cant find it, door edge molding might work. you can get 18 foot rolls of it at the parts store for 12 bucks

Re: T-Top Moulding

I wish there was a way I found out if it actually had it or if it was just something people added on. It's a 1984 so I am not sure, I probably wouldn't use an adhesive after seeing what happened when in the heat.
