My sincerest thanks to all who participated in this thread. I just located and purchased an NOS set of vintage Trico 18-2 wipers. This forum is fantastic.
I pulled a few sets of take-off wiper frames last time I was in the attic, back when this thread was fresh... I've never gotten around to looking at them. Guess I'm not hardcore enough.

Rockauto sells them at about $1-2 a piece...

Seeing that I work now at a Acdelco and motorcraft warehouse this information has me curious. I will have to look at the 18-2 we sell the Delco wipers and rubber refills but I was told nobody bothers buying the refills anymore. I guess its because we have Delco blades for $3-4 a blade.
The blades arrived from Rock Lobster. They're private label, meaning they're boxed for a specific retailer. In this case, NAPA.
The first obvious difference is the beam length. The Trico beams are full length of the squeegee. The OEM blade beams stop short of the squeegee ends (compare with photos of originals posted elsewhere):

Blade beam end:
You can see the difference in how much lower the Trico blade sits than typical six-point contact replacement blades.
Another detail to ponder; are the OEM squeegees date and time stamped like these replacements?:
Palo 57509 has got this covered for us back on page 1. The differences between vintage Trico and current are numerous.
Beam Length now long and generic.
Beam construction at the tension spring is generic.
Rubber Blades are date stamped.
The current assembly is globally Sourced. Factory originals were stamped made in the USA at both ends of the beam.
Old thread, but how long are those tricos posted above.I just found these stored in my garage. These were on my 84 when i bought it back in 88.I remember painting these years ago then put away when i could'nt find refills.I see in the pics above the refills are longer than the blade. Is that how they came originally?I measured mine at 15", btw.
