Warped crossmember?

All;

I replaced my torque arm bushing with an Energy Suspension urethane bushing, and intended at the same time to replace the hydraulic mount crossmember with the solid...

It turned out that the crossmember was severely warped, even with the T-5 jacked up to the floor of the car, there was no room. (Forklift damage at the yard)

Yesterday, I found a crossmember lying in the back of a Camaro...but noticed when it's lying on a flat surface, one end lies flat, and the opposite end is at a slight angle. It this crossmember bent? Pic to follow soon.

Re: Warped crossmember?

One side of the "frame" where it bolts to, is parallel to the ground; the other is at an angle. Maybe 15 - 20°.

Re: Warped crossmember?

Like this? The opposite end is lying flat on the concrete.

I just want to be sure that it's good before tearing the car apart again.

Re: Warped crossmember?

That's normal. You'll see when you go to bolt it on that it's OK.

I agree, that looks about right. Should be OK.

Re: Warped crossmember?

Thanks, guys! I'll probably put it on this weekend. Should be a good bit more solid than the hydraulic mount.

Re: Warped crossmember?

Thanks, all for the sanity check. The crossmember was perfect, and I had no issues at all. Eliminating the failing hydraulic transmission mount made a noticeable difference.
