Full Audio Replacement
I like rock music. I don't need or want my Camaro bouncing down the road vibrating everything loose and distorting all the sound. That being said, my speakers and head unit are toasted due to age and the wires are probably in the same boat. I'd love a stock look but, without considerable novelty costs I just don't see it as an option. I'm looking for good quality, not amazing. I need CD, aux, and Bluetooth in the head unit and good sound from the speakers. I think I can get away with this for $400 on the low end and $650 being my top end. I don't know much about audio so any help within budget would be appreciated.

Go to crutchfield.com Plug in your car make and model and go from there. They have some great stuff. I buy all my audio from them. Tech support, wire adapters and all is included.

In order to get the best sound, you will need a seperate ampifier to drive the speakers instead of using the low power, high distortion head unit power. You can probably get a HU, 4 good speakers, amp, and wiring for around $650 - but it might be wise to spend a little more to get better quality stuff.

Bob88GTA gave some good advice if you are doing the job yourself. Their products are supported by knowledgeable staff easily reached by phone and what they send you is everything you will need for a seemless install. I have dealt with them for 3 installations in 3 very different vehicles and they came through every time. They are just good at what they do.

Thanks for the advice Bob, I'll look into them. I was hoping someone could also recommend some equipment that might fit my budget. Decent sound is just fine. T tops off and the quality goes down pretty quick 😎.

So Ragin, did you decide on a sound system? I'm looking myself, I just don't want the annoying video screen going all the time.

Re: Full Audio Replacement
I went with some cheap Pioneer speakers and a JVC receiver (the Kenwood was out of stock) from sonicelectronix.com. I got everything I wanted; CD, aux, Bluetooth. $207 including hardware. Installed by a guy I work with for $75. I was out at under $300.
On a side note it is lacking some low end bass but, for $300 I'm very happy.

Re: Full Audio Replacement
Thanks for the response. I may go that route also since I really don't need a pounding sound system either.
