Actually, I had a thread on this one a couple years or so ago, before the current owner.

That cracked dash will be a biotch to replace.

Originality be damned! A perfect shell to build a perfect car! But at the same time idk... It's so weird to see this you kinda just don't know what to do with it lol. Maybe I'd build the perfect car out of a super minty V6 instead.

Re: Another red, '83, Iron Duke

I had one about 16 years ago that I used as a work car for a while. It was an 82, 4 cyl, Had 60k miles, SUPER, SUPER CLEAN, and was a 4 speed manual. The car didn't have a scratch or a ding anywhere. I bought it with a spun rod bearing for $600. Fixed the engine and drove it for about 8 months. It kept the miles off of my 87 GN I had at the time. Here's a pic of the car. Its a picture of an old crappy and dirty photo.... It was fun to drive only because it was so nice.....other than that..it pretty much sucked. But if I wanted to go fast I'd just hop in the 600hp Grand National hehe

I should have done it with the one I had....especially since I had the engine out of it, lol. But like I said, I had the GN and I had all my money under the hood of that one.

how 'bout the white A-body in the back ground! What is that Charlie, a Grand Prix? I think I'd rather have that!

Yes, that caught my eye as well!

Sometimes I wonder if I should grab that '79 Grand LeMans, 301 4 speed I was telling you about.

Damn it. I already used up my tax refund. I would have bought it and saved it from the fate of an 8 to be installed.

I meant V-8 engine. Although, an interesting project would be to remove and set aside the iron duke, and install the Gen. 6 turbo 4 engine into it.

Sorry my reference was to the height of the front of the car...looks like the engine is out or V8 springs in an iron duke (might lighter engine).

Re: Another red, '83, Iron Duke

Yup, the front is a bit high. You're right though, the coils may have been replaced with the wrong ones. I don't think even from a v-6 car the coils will allow it to sit lower.

Never got to ride in an iron duke F body so I am not sure if they were soft ride like the Berlinetta's and if they even had a rear sway bar.

They ride soft. My front end was lower than that car...it looked "normal" for front ride height

Can almost see more of that firewall than my project bird, and the bird doesn't have anything under the hood. LOL
