Finally about to Hit the road for the first time in 12 years!!1985 Trans Am
I just had all the decals removed from my car. I might end up putting the ones on the side back on. Nice thing about this type of thing is it is easy to do/undo. No permanent commitments.

Thanks Buddy. Me and my Dad and sons worked on it awhile it was fun having them all helping out. I'm proud of it. Good to hear you are out and about with yours man great job!
Oh No, I'm not out with mine yet, it's still basically winter hanging on here. That black GTA I commented on isn't mine. I just noticed it on the thread and saw the owner is in Ottawa too, he purchased it in the fall. Was just saying it's cool seeing some of these cars getting love still and around this city. The way our weather is lingering it'll be a bit yet for us here.
Also great job on your car, very cool you got to spend time with your family doing it too!
1988 Trans Am
5.7/Auto, 9 Bolt B/W w/3.23 gears
180k miles, seen better days. But I'm 17 and she's all mine.
I named her Matilda
Sweet car!!! I really like the color too. Great ride to have at 17, to be young and just hop in it and cruise around with friends, summer memories made.

agreed!
Also agreed with your quote @dmc, car glows man...looks gorgeous!!!
I know he doesn't look like much. Hell, right now he isn't much. He's missing half an engine, the spoiler and hood are both in dire need of replacement. Most of what's in there right now is scrapped parts from elsewhere. But y'know, I think there's a certain beauty to be seen in potential. I look at the cars in this thread, and to Duke, and I really get that. Just wanted to say hi to the community, and I wanted to say thanks to everyone for being chill. I look forward to building Duke up and maybe getting to show some of you the progress along the way.

Reason: I can't tell if the image is showing.
@radegast, absolutely agree on beauty in potential. To me a thirdgen in any form, beat up project or show car beauty is awesome to see. Love to see passion for these cars!
Looks good btw need more pics!
I always liked that Maui blue. A local lady had one in hardtop and she let it sit up for years I tried buying it numerous times. She wouldn't sell it and ended up dying and I don't know where it went from there.
The black one looks soo smooth, except for the light bulb on the antenna
LOL,it's kind of a old joke, it used to be a hardees star until Baer gave me a bunch of, well, baer ***** for antenna toppers. It's funny so I leave it
It's been a while since I posted some pics here... these are recent.
The embroidered floor mats really helped out the interior. The wire looms went on when my headers were installed 2 weeks ago, good blend of form and function I think.
dmc do you have a thread for your car?! Went looking for it but couldnt find it if you do. If you dont i think you should start one asap! You have a great car!
Also, have you ever thought about tinting the windows? Would look real nice with the red and black you have, imo.
I had a thread for when I was getting it ready for paint. I think I will refrain on tinting this car but I agree it would look good. Its a job doing the back glass and a job getting it off when it goes wrong lol. I'm focusing now on an engine swap next and hope that wraps this car project up. Kinda looking for a stick shift f-body or Corvette to keep her company. Thank you for the nice comments.
Are those factory door panels? They look like Camaro? And the dash pad a 82-4?
The door panels came with my car. They look like they're vinyl panels from a mid-80s Camaro but I'm not sure. I like the look though.
The dash pad is the factory Firebird pad with a glued-on plastic cover that I got from 1A Auto. The old one had a bunch of cracks. The new cover was really easy to install. https://www.1aauto.com/1982-92-ponti...r/i/1aidc00225
