Scammer Lou battaglia trans am 82-92
Nobody deal with this guy he is a fraud. He sold me a car saying it had only 77k has 123 k and is more than that since odometer stopped doesn't work. I asked a few major questions. What kind of shape is the overall body in any Major rust since he lives in des plaines ok. He said no rust fla car he's had it short time been covered in storage winter time. How is engine and trans . He said trans is perfect engine just needs a really good full tune up but nothing major wrong with it . So I tell him if I'm understanding the car right no rust no body damage engine needs just tune up trans is fine and it only has 77k he said yes.so we set up a day for car to be picked up and shipped on the day ar is picked up he text me not happy about how he has to send car that I rushed him he had over a week to get it ready. He tells me things are missing from car compressor convertible top parts ground effects he's putting all that inside car . I have car picked up and shipped to me. If I could have I would have died when I saw it. First thing driver side fender is completely damaged . But wasn't like that in pics. Car has so much rust under hood floor pans are shot convertible mounting area on winshueld is destroyed with rust. No compressor sent no ground effects no convertible top parts . When I tell about all this he says I. Ought a project and he didn't have time to put parts in car yet I bought let's say on a Monday and didn't ship till next Monday. Talked with him since purchase numerous times keeps promising parts when he can get to them. And will refund me 200 from purchase price if 3k 3k for a project lol. Over 1 month monoarts all I hear is he's busy cuz he has he's money. Please no. Indy deal with this guy I've seen other post about him ripping people off back in 2015 2016 hrs a scammer not a man of his word. He sells parts on this site don't trust him. Karma will get him I was a man if my word put 3k in his bank without even having title or car and he can't even follow they and give what is mine .

Ya he ripped me off $300 cash in person on 1983 recaro seats and used me on a deal that made him $2000 !!!!
He Lived in Itasca IL for a long time !! Now lives in Wauconda, Il
I even visited his home in Itasca a few times and his family was WEIRD, never said hi or made contact with me that was a HUGE red flag
He's a Cook County sheriff's officer last worked at Skokie Cook county courthouse
Other stories I have heard is, He ripped off one guy $13000 in Germany on a 82 recaro he never owned and another guy I met he ripped him off $1200

I live not too far from Wauconda, but if he's a Cook County Sheriff, I wouldn't say or mess with him too much. Make sure to post the scams and leave it at that as they're more than willing to sue for slander and they're very protected by their fellow sheriffs. Sorry to hear he screwed everyone so badly!!

I'm from Chicago and I know its CORRUPT as hell, But times have changed last 10+ years with social media and everyone having a camera and these days LEO's are not in a good media/public light last few years with beatings and corruption caught on camera and more !!!
So now is the time to show light on BAD APPLES like him
He's been doing his little scheme for a LONG time and has ripped of MANY people in the third gen community myself included and we shouldn't allow scum FILTH like him !!!

And In this case Lou.B is a LEO and knows how to "play the system" and scam people, Just like that ex-cop they arrested in California who murdered and raped all those women in the 70's/80's and got away with it for a long time.
With me and thirdvert89 it was cash or him depositing money into his bank account, Lou will NEVER use a secured pay method like paypal or a USPS money order since he knows he can get in serious trouble with those services and defrauding people

I messaged Cook county sheriff Tom Dart and emailed local Chicago media/State attorney generals office about him last year.
I never heard a reply from any of them ??
And we can see nothing happened cause he's still out there ripping people off

I am FAR from condoning what he did! I just know that his type will definitely hide behind the protection of the law as much as possible because he at least says he's a cop. Which sucks and should never be allowed!! I'm very sorry that he screwed everyone and i'm glad that you posted that he's a scammer and hopefully he doesn't scam anyone else from here! I hate hearing/reading that people get scammed and the buyer or seller gets away with it. I just wanted to let you know that the corrupt Cook County Sheriffs/Cops protect their own and will most likely attack you and your character back. I was only putting out that warning.
Ya I know "Crook county" is bad, But if media or state/federal officials gets involved there's not much county sheriffs can do to "brush it off", And if they try it'll be much worse for them !!!!
And I don't live in Illinois and there's nothing for them to attack me on, I have NO criminal history or skeletons to hide. Unlike him who does !!!

post on all the Cook County facebook pages about it. I don't know about you guys but my town has a main facebook page that pretty much everyone from my town is a member of, something like this would generate a lot of comments. If someone was to create a page with a brief summary of what he did with links to all the threads about him screwing people out of their money then it would go over very well.
We would just have to post it on every page (including the Sheriff Office page). every time they delete it we throw it right back up, if they block you then the next guy in line starts spamming it. As someone said earlier, police get away with a lot but once the media spotlight is on them it starts getting ugly for them.
Local media coverage on it would help but it would be hard to persuade them to air it, better off just doing it yourself since social media is a way stronger force than the ol' evening news.
