So after 12+ years of sitting in my garage with a seized motor, my 86 Recaro is finally coming out and im beginning the repair work. I have the Recaro Interior which is in my opinion in 9.5 out 10 condition. My only real issue is the rail on the drivers side has cracked so now the seat has a forward/ back motion and doesn't feel stable at all. Do the regular Trans am seats have the same rail? Where can I get a replacement? its literally the only flaw on my seats.
Thanks for the help, im super stoked to be getting back into my 3rd gen !
They use the same track as a standard thirdgen. The power seat is a bit different as it uses a completely different bezel. BUT there is a seat adapter that goes between the seat and the seat track.
My Recaros are not power. IIRC the rail that is broken in the large bar along the bottom in the above picture. I gotta take another look when I get over to the car this weekend. Ill snap some pics of what is broken but it seems like I can just buy a standard trans am seat rail and raid it for parts for my Recaro.
im not gonna be by the car until this weekend ( its at my mothers house ). I got wedding stuff on Saturday but I should be able to start tearing it down on sunday. Ill check out the rail and let you know. I appreciate the offer
