Ground effects removal

Hi Guys, i am doing a major overhaul on my 84 Transam. I want to remove the ground effects completely. Has anyone removed ground effects the same as these? whats the best way to remove them and is there anything i should look out for? is there a lot of welding up to do afterwards? thanks

Yes, welding is necessary. There are holes in the body, fenders and there is a bracket welded to the rocker. Just leave them on and sell the car to someone who wants them and get another base model car without GFX
