i think its part of the AIR system. i know i ripped it off a fair while ago when i pulled the smoggy and the piping.

It diverts the air from the AIR (Air Injection Reaction) pump between two destinations...the small individual tubes that going into each port on your exhaust manifolds, or to the tube(s) that go down under the car and into the catalytic converter(s).

Depends on the smog regulations where you have the car registered. In California for example, yes

I live in PA. I don't need emissions tail pipe testing anymore just a visual. Though I doubt most mechinacs nowadays knows what that stuff even is. Questions is will it effect my engine? I have a L98 tpi in my 89gta so would it effect the performance?
