Moates and others have been selling replacement chips for a while now.

I was thinking about this and it's capability a couple weeks ago. They claim it works and is fast enough for most 8-bit computer systems but there's a lot of people saying there's subtle timing issues that can't quite be accounted for. Idk if it's a software implementation issue or a hardware limitation. It's one thing if your 40 year old computer glitches, but I'd be less than thrilled if it missed a lookup and gave me 99° of advance while trying to pass someone.

A glitch would be bad, not sure hei timing can be commanded that far probably limited advance movement . The ostrich might be the safe choice. Just saw this device and thought it looked cool and great price.
