Please help my friend.
Please help my friend.
Several days ago my friend recieved what is left of his dream car, his 2002 35th SS, back after it was stolen and stripped. His car has over $10,000 damage to it. Here is the really bad part, the insurance company is trying to deny his claim, so for the moment it looks like he may be paying for the damage out of pocket
. So here is what I ask of you fellow F-body enthusiasts, just keep your eyes and ears open for anyone trying to sell 35th Anniversary SS parts in the Houston and surrounding areas. Whatever their excuse, these are likely the parts off my friends car, so please call the police! Here is what is missing from the his car, the black SS wheels, the SS hood and spoiler, all of the interior: seats, doorpanels, stereo, CD changer, the center-exit exhaust, and special portfolio that came with the car. The car was stolen by pros who actually had a key made for the car! If anybody hears anything please let the police know.

His car is now back home, took awhile, because auto impound it was at was run back a bunch of crooks IMO. I drove it 30 miles back to his house with no hood and no exhaust ( well no exhaust was kinda sweet ) but anyway the insurance company ( Allstate ) is still trying to screw him over.
BS!!!!!!!!!
Insurance companies will always try to screw you any chancce they get, especially on big claims like that. They are supposed to pay for your losses. I mean that is what insurance is for, right? So they need to pay for the damages. Just think about it, it doesn't work the other way around. You can't go up to the insurance company and tell them you didn't have any claims for the last year, so now you're entitled to a refund.

Anyway there is NO WAY he should have to pay out of pocket. That just pisses me off.
My advice: Get a lawyer to call them, and I bet they'll quit screwing around real quick.
Don't let the company push you around.
Call this lawyer. I'm not sure if he deals with insurance, but he has an excellent reputation, and can probably help you out.

Well here is the deal. When he got the car, he told them what it was, gave them pictures and everything, and he thought that was it. Well, about a month later, they call him and say they didn't realize it was a special car, so he owed them a $650 surcharge. He told them he didn't have much and asked if he could pay it out, they said no problem. Then it got stolen, they said since he still owed $150 that they were denying his claim. What a bunch a jerks huh!
