They aren't that bad really. You might need to bang up your driver side header a little bit because of clearancing needed for the steering shaft (or whatever its called, name escapes me right now). Also, the passanger side bolt near the #8 cylinder will probabally be best tackled from underneath the car.

OK, I know its not that bad, but I need a place to install them. I cant do it at my house, and Meineke on Mason wants $250. I am willing to pay someone $100 to just help me and provide a place to do it. ANy takes? Ive got tools, I should get them by Friday. I bought them new on ebay for $390. OK deal I guess
Plus I don't want to give it to some dweeb at Meineke. A shop isn't going to car about doing it right. Daniel, you still around?

if they are 1 3/4 inch i can almost promise you will have to dent the header.also dont even waste you time avoiding, drop the steering column from the begining and u will save yourself alot of time. as for the #8 bolt, even to get to it from underneath is tuff. good luck though.

Larry, have you checked the private installer index? If you cant find anyone to do it for you, I'll do it in my shop for $200 plus you supply all the parts. It's a bigger job than you think! The SLP's are hard to install and will probably take most of the day to do, maybe even 2 days if you run into problems like brake line re-routing, new motor mounts for more needed clearance, moving / adjusting steering shaft, and of course the unexpected issues that ALWAYS arise. SLP's are bad about rubbing the steering shaft and having fitment issues. The hooker longtubes were a pain to put in, but the SLP's are little more difficult than that.
Good luck and let me know!

I might take you up on that Mike. These are 1 5/8" so they might be a little easier than the 1 3/4". I've heard its a good idea to change motor mounts during this operation as well if they are old. Mine are stock. I like the idea of saving at least th $50 plus having someone do it who knows about thirdgens too. I'm hoping to get them on Friday, I will let you know. Why don't you send me an email or private message with your number.
