BTW, I figured out that I was already registered here under my normal username from a couple of years ago, so ignore the name change.

Eh, I don't really care. I'll race him anyway.
I'd rather loose against a worthy car than beat up on a beater.
Oh, did you mean the one listed earlier in this thread? Sure, I'll race that. But isn't he trying to sell it?
Last edited by esc; Feb 21, 2005 at 10:10 PM.
Yes the one listed earlier. He originally was going to sell it, but with the plans he's got for the car, he think's he'll be better off keeping this engine and building around it. Its still for sale if he got what he wanted for it, but he's not dropping the price.

We still need a few more small donations to cover the cost of the awards.
Come on people don't make me beg! This is what U guys wanted, so let's step up to the plate. Even with the genorisity of Kevin89formula we still are short.

Whats a guy got to do to get a race around here?
No one has stepped up an said that THEY will race me. It's all "my brother" or "some other guys wife".
Am I going to have to start giving people reasons for a REAL grudge?

Anyone who wants to get beat. I haven't seen any cars in the club run an 8 sec. 1/8th. I should have the new carb by then, but I don't think it'll make me a second faster.Besides,

I know there's a couple guys here on the board that are high 7's /low 8's in an 1/8th, but I can't remember who they are!
I know one guy who will run U if I can get him there to the strip. His name is Jeff. The cars name is "The Nozzinater" or something like that.

I'm gonna channel all of the air coming in the front directly to the air filter (try to follow the contour of the hood), and let the back opening vent the motor compartment. I guess my volunteering to let you kick my azz doesn't count? OK, Let's race. Now that makes 2.

(Sorry, I missed your point the first time. )
If I remember the shape of the bottom of your hood correctly this might work:
What if a piece of flat aluminum were attached to the bottom of the hood from just under the front opening, going back behind the carb, but not all the way back. (Leaving the rear vent exposed to the engine compartment ) That peice of aluminum would have a 90 degree bend on the back, going up, to box it in to the hood, and a hole above the carb. Then the Moroso air pan would seal up against the aluminum.
Basically the Aluminum would provide a flat surface for the Moroso pan to seal against, by boxing in the irregular surface of the hood..
I think it looks a lot better in my imagination than this description makes it sound. What do you think?
Of course this might be overkill if the pan fits right (or even close) by it's self.

Craig,I don't think REAL ram air and the carb will knock 1 sec off my time, but the new carb will help tremendously. My 60-foot times suck because the carb is just not giving the motor enough gas on launch. When I drive it on the street, I've gotten a lean condition back-fire thru the carb upon acceleration. Because I'm replacing it, I'm really not interested ion trying to make the piece of junk I have work. It would be a waste of time.
esc, I'll have to see what it looks like, how wide it is, etc. I might be able to use it to send ALL of the air to the air filter. That raised part is not very wide.

Welp, unless something major changes and I come into some very GOOD luck between now and March 26, it doesn't look as if Kitt will be able to make good on any grudge matches.

When it did start was it only after you let off the start switch?
I saw something like that once when the starter wire wasn't hooked up to the injection.

Cool! That makes 3. I hope your car can make it. If not it will still be cool to meet you.
From your info in your signature your car looks pretty fast. What kind of times have you run?

with a fried clutch and fouled plugs, the best recorded run at the track was loss against ZAP at Houston Motorsports Park
60 ft. 2.84
1/8th 9.01
MPH 82.07
All motor bugs have since been corrected, just waiting on a clutch.
Not too impressive times, I know...... but I ain't "SKEERED" ta run ya!
Anyone care to donate $475.00 ??

If I get my rearend fixed (in my car that is), and Mikeee is up and running, I think it's time for a rematch!

I know all too well about unfufilled potential.
So what do you HOPE it will run?
Like I said earlier my best time so far (at Sealy) was:
8.0@90 with a 2.17 60ft (AutoX tires don't make for good launches)
A lot of things have changed since then but I suspect that the biggest change in my time will be the result of some ET-Streets.

Shoot, if you get some ET streets that will make a big difference. I ran like 8.6 best at Sealy with a 1.9 60'time on Nitto Drag radials. Im working on a few mods at present and will be ready to run for the spring fling. Should shave a few tenths of and be getting close to 13.0 for the 1/4. (watch out Texas Lt1)
I look forward to seeing your car there.

I'm looking forward to being there.
I've got 'em, and I'll be bringing them. It will probably be the first time I get to try them out.
I HOPE (and we all know how that goes) they will be worth about .3 seconds. I'm also HOPING the new motor will be worth a couple more. But I'm also hoping I don't break anything...
I was also HOPING to get a chance to use my G-Tech today, but it's WAY to wet outside.

Oh I'll be there, just glad we're running 1/8th. I could shift "in" to 4th gear, just wouldn't be able to shift "out" of it

Hell, I'll even run StevenGTA for kicks... no offense to the other guys here, but I'll probably be the closest run (maybe not by much though)...which won't really be close, but...

I think a 1.8 sixty footer is very possible for my car. So, if you shave a whole second off of my last run of 2.84 sixty footer, well you do the math! It puts me at 8.0 or faster in the 1/8 th.

I ran 1.91 and 8.57 and then 1.91 and 8.61 respective 60' times and 1/8 mile times. 1.8 would get you to low 8s but I dont think below, maybe. Hell, it would be great to see you run a time like that at the next meet, silence all the critics, haha. Anyway, will your car be ready to race for the gathering?.
