Well I finally got my car out of my garage since a year ago and I'm ready to run. Problem here is that I didn't pass the emmissions test today but I still have 15 days to drive it on the road legally. Question is, do you think that they will let me race at the drag strip for SFT. When I got home, I noticed that the timing was advansed a bit so I readjusted it back to 6 degrees BTDC. I was told that the cats go bad when a car is sitting for a year, that moistor builds up in them and can ruin them. Think the problem was the timing or the catalitic (which is fairly new) I have new plugs and cables. One thing is that I always gap them to .045 instead of .035 (ac delco rapid fire). I never had problems with my brothers 91 RS so I feel that that would not affect it. My main concern is being able to race, but if the inspection sticker is going to keep me from racing what will be the next step inorder to get the sticker legally.
(91 Z28 305 TPI, streetfighter 700r4, Stock ported heads and intake, edelbrock headers, catco cat, borla cat back, SVO 19# injectors, walbro 255 pump, K&N filters, Accel 10.8mm 300+ race wires) Think anything in this setup is causing the problem for not passing the emmissions. Thanks!
