I was just wondering if anyone had an aftermarket (stand alone)EMS on their third gen.I'm hearing that this is the only way local performance shops will be able to tune third-gens.If anyone has it, is it worth the money? Please let me know as i'm trying to decide on what route i'm gonna go with mine.

I don't know about what U are asking, but as far as tuning if U have a TPI talk to Mike (1bad91Z)--send him a PM.

U might want to go to the appropiate tech board TPI --TBI or whatever is correct for your car, and ask that same question. I'm sure the people that hang out on those boards can give u much better info.

You can use HALTECH, BIKIROM, or Megasquirt on these cars. Adn there is EEPROM flashing using MOATES goodies. There is some interesting on teh fly stuff out there, but most shops don't know how to work with the stuff...leaves you i the cold. Haltech is easy enough to use (compared to having to interpolate the maps using a custom chip, adn "guess" at the tune). BIKI adn MEgasquirt both work very well, adn I know of two peeps in houston who tune them. Might ask around with the import people...they ahve the EFI tuning **** down pat
