On top of that, i'm sitting in my home office stinking up the place for lack of water to shower 'water main burst'.
Smile and be happy as spring is almost here!!!
Thats funny...spring is almost here. Back in pittsburgh, winter hasnt begun yet!! (even tho we got pounded so far with snow) February is downright brutal most of the time...and last well into march and sometimes even some mild snow in april.

I too need to titty up the car with some cleaning and polishing. Unfortunately for me the car got bumped in the nose while in storage and now needs some paint work. Rest of the paint is not great but presentable.
Long term forecast shows sunshine for later next week... yippy!!!

hey lance what did you do with the compressor, lines and ac condenser you pulled off your ride when you did the ac delete? Did they work? I actually totally need those parts 100% like yesterday... unless you were keeping them... Hey Orr ... just wait pretty soon you will get your first taste of a Texas spring time .. currently... this is winter..

man i'm pretty good at tearing stuff apart as well. Although i'm kind of stuck in my own little hell so to speak...

A little off topic but i just had to share. Guys when i built this 383 and dyno'd it, it ran like total crap 'with my tuning' but, i was able to squeeze 348.4 rwhp and 493.7 rwt. A good friend stopped by today and got her tuned better then i ever felt. I had total advance at 29 but now it is at 35 and feels like there may be more. My secondaries now feel like a 5th gear when i romp on it at 55. I never had a problem with low rpm as it would always get hairy with little effort while in 2nd or 3rd gear. Anyhow, today i also picked up a Holley 4160 '750 double pumper', so i will be replacing this Edelbrock 1411 '750 vacuum junk'. I also ordered a 1" Phenolic 'open' spacer for the added horsepower since i have the clearance.
Once i get this Holley setup, i will need to get her a dyno tune to get her 'really' dialed in. The place i went to last time SUCKED as they were no better with the carb/timing then i was. I'd hate to waste $75 for 3 pulls so i hope we can get a dyno day scheduled early this spring. If anyone has any recommendations where/who can do a GOOD carb/no-ecm dyno tune i would appreciate it.

Any place that has a wideband o2 sensor attached in the exhaust should beable to get an idea what the carb is doing for fuel, and make adjustments from there, as in jet up or down to get air fuel ratio in line

I hadn't even thought about doing it that way. I just may know someone too 'the inspection station'.
Every dyno place i've been to has a tail pipe attachment for wideband so hook it up and it should give you an idea.
Just remember if you have any leaks in the exhaust pipes from headers back, it may read leaner than it is due to extra o2 getting into the exhaust stream. Also tune it abit richer on the dyno than you want to run on the street. Street loads the motor more, so it will lean out on the street. I'd shoot for 12.4 to 1 air fuel on dyno, and it should be closer to 12.8 on the street
I got the trans am inspected saturday and it passed just fine, just needed wiper blades haha. Its a 99 LS1 with LS6 manifold/EGR delete, longtubes with AIR, catted y pipe and SLP Loudmouth 2. It passed since the codes were turned off in the ecm so no check engine lights.

Sounds like a really nice ride. Thanks for the info to.
Its ok car... mechanically sound but its been "totaled" before. From texas it spun out and had front/rear body damage. Local shop in PA bought it to refurbish and resale. I got it for 5500 with new ebony leather seats, new bumpers, and ZR1 SS wheels. I put money in tires to get it road worthy, then bought the lid/filter for it. Then headers/intake/etc. Got the back bumper painted to match the car since it was off a different car. Paint could use buffed/wetsand. Has some scratches and paint peeling on headlight cover and some on hood, but for a 400hp daily driver LS1 trans am I always wanted I cant complain, especially for the price. Decent LS1 car for the price of a good quality thirdgen aint bad
Automatic/2.73 is nice for highway but I wish it was a 6 speed.

I was so looking forward to meet this weekend until one of my boys called and said he would be coming back from offshore this weekend and, there is something i learned a long time ago... 'NEVER pass up a chance to spend time with my sons'. So i will be in S.A. this weekend.
Looks like it will rain Saturday anyway...

Im getting back into my car, Im going to register it again. I don't know about insurance and Im going to have an inspection problem but Id like to come.
I need to do something with my son Max's 1990 Firebird 6 cyl. Remember it got wrecked a few years ago and it was declared totaled. We repaired it and it has a salvage title. Well it got wrecked again, hit in the front. He has been driving it since last summer with the hood tied down, but I just got him a different car. It needs a hood, bumber cover and honeycomb bumper piece and one new headlight. Maybe a few other pieces.
I could fix it for about $2000 but Im not sure what I could sell it for after that, maybe $2500, maybe I can just get $500 now with someone who wants to fix it, or even to a salvage yard.
If just turned over 80,000 original miles. The interior is good except the driver seat is ripped now in the normal places.
Any ideas??

you probably have it then.
its green piece of paper with the VIN, mileage, your name, tag number and drivers license number on it.
most places will tell you that you need it when you get an out of state vehicle inspected.

Well yea, this is acceptable now, I had my AC on driving around yesterday. I usually exaggerate & say anything below 80 & I need a jacket, but this year, I guess because I put on some weight, I can deal with 60 or so fine. Below that & I just don't like it.

uess we havent set a date yet. i keep doing little things to mine. got my valve covers in and they need a little ploishing. center bolt aluminum flamed covers. air cleaner will be in tomorrow. going to polish all of them with mothers billet polish. also going to order hose cover kits. hopefully there will be some good weather soon. looking to go to some local meets soon.
Supreme Member
Never been a big fan of the hose cover kits myself... but to each his own... I'd love to get mine running again and throw some exhaust up on it and maybe redo the seats that are sitting outside the car.... Still worried that my motor aint turning though... I've got a couple more things to try before i get really worried or pissed... lol

I will try and make a meet once I know the date. Have been out of sync lately,as I was taking care of my wife who on Dec.31,2009 passed away due to ovarian cancer. Am trying to get my life and my head together, not an easy thing to deal with losing her as we have been together about 30 years. Have a lot of loose ends to tie up,the Camaro being low on my list. Larry
Larry, I'm so sorry to hear the news.
If there is anything at all I can do to help, please let me know.
Whether you need help moving furniture or just want an excuse to get out and take your mind off of things, or whatever, I'll be happy to help.
On a lighter subject: I expect to be out at my shop installing my Dual/Parallel Walbro 392 inline fuel pump setup on Saturday. If it doesn't rain I'll probably go out to Otto's afterwards.

I am pretty sure Mike is going to make a meet post soon. Larry sorry for your loss, I can't imagine what your dealing with. prayers are with you...
ESC-- do you think its worth the drive out to ottos from freindswood?
thinking about going to otto's or keema this Saturday. anybody heard if keema is happening this time of year?
When the pearland home depot gets going again I will let everyone know, maybe we could all meet up there one friday night for a minni meet. the holidays and weather have kind of put a squash on pearland, I went about 2 or 3 weeks ago and there was only around 15 to 20 cars. I saw 92-t5 there early JAN...what up dude? are you having a baby soon? or was that someone else?

If the weather is nice I would expect a decent turn out at Otto's, but they are predicting thunder storms. If the weather is bad or clears out at the last minute I wouldn't bother driving from Friendswood to Otto's. If the storms blow through in the morning and the afternoon is bright and sunny then I would try to get to Otto's no later than 5:00.Originally Posted by kevin89formula

Unless it is actually raining, I'll probably head over there as soon as I get my fuel pumps installed. I'm hoping for about 4:00.
