Hi all. Well...I am in the process of getting things put together on my ride. Paint is done and next is the interior. I have long been wanting to get a modern radio in the car....touch screen, DVD, navigation, the works ya know.

Well...from what I can tell its really not a clean option on a third gen. I have seen a cpl set ups that are nice, but not exactly clean. Sooooo...I am hoping some one has a camaro center console to donate. It is my hope to custom fab a set up that would allow us to install modern day electronics in our classic rides. I have a couple ideas in my head on how to get this done and have the stereo housing look as original as possible.

Luckily, camaros use carpet that would cover up modifications or alternate materials used in making a new cavity for a double din unit. If no one has a junk or spare console lying around, please point me to a bone yard where ya last seen one in decent shape for mock ups.

Thanks for reading all but after looking at a few more pix on the boards I think I may be able to come up with something with no fab work to the console itself. Just need to look at my car and measure clearances in a couple spots.

sorry bout that emblem bro.. I still got it laying on my bar along with a silver z28 rocker emblem... give me couple days and i'll get with you on dropping it off to you... where in htown are you at?

 

I live in Spring....work downtown and every other weekend I am hanging around the Copperfield area. Hopefully on the weekend I can wipe down the car and get some nice pix to post up.
