I'm located in Bryan/College Station TX. For those that don't know, it's a college town (TX A&M) that's growing unbelievably fast. A&M is the largest university in the state and one of the biggest in the country.
We're located less than an hour and a half from Houston and about the same distance to Waco. Austin is 100 miles away and Dallas is 150 miles away. So this would be a good area to hold an annual car show.
If you're interested, post here and or PM me. I am retired and have time to help put something together. I would need help obviously and if you are reading and have experience with hosting one of these please feel free to chime in.
I'm thinking a good weather month and September or October would be good.
What classes? How many trophies? Opinions? Discuss....
I'd love for a car show to be in the area. I'm not very enthused about driving to College Station tho. Not sure if I want to put that many non-pleasure miles on the car. The drive isn't too bad once you pass Elgin. Would probably show up in my daily driver just to be there and enjoy. Sept is hot! That's why they moved the ACL Fest dates many years back.

Thank you for your input. Is there another city you think would be better? I'm trying to do something outside of the typical big cities (Houston/Austin/Dallas)
What about October? I'm also very familiar with Elgin. I grew up 10 miles from there and two of my sons are there.
If we can get enough people interested and commit to going. I thought about starting a GoFundMe account to buy trophies and tents or whatever is needed to make this event legit. I'm serious serious about creating a new Car Show
Once we get a city picked we can start finding the perfect spot. Plenty of room, some shade, a restaurant that's within walking distance for food..
B/CS is a nice area. Spent last summer there remodeling MC Harris school. A little too far to make the occasional drive for a car show (2 hours average), but I know I spotted many third gens out there. Might work out better to have an F-body meet for all years.
LiquidBlue: Funny you mention Elgin. I also worked out there (electrician) at the new Memorial Park last year as well.

I agree. There doesn't seem to be enough enthusiasm from the 3rd gen crowd to garner a 3rd gen only show. I'm talking to one of the moderators on Camaro6 (forum) and he's in a Camaro club in Houston. Sounds like they would love to round up the group and drive over.
Wednesday I plan on going to the local car gtg here in town. I'll see what they think and go from there.
I would go.
I vote for you to have it in College Station, because that would be more convenient for me. I'll be spending some time over there this Fall.
September is pretty hot, and lot of old cars don't have AC that works very well.
If it is too late in the year, I may have started my Winter mods and the car won't be driveable.
Both my daughters and grand kids live in Spring, I come down to Spring 5 to 8 times a year to see them. I would love to go to a 3rd gen car show, would work my trip to Spring, TX around the show date. Please keep me informed. thanks, in advance
