When's the next meet!
These aren't third gen specific, but there are usually some there.

Cruise-ins in Raleigh:

1st Saturday: Char-Grill (Atlantic Ave., Raleigh)
2nd Saturday: Miami Subs (Garner)
3rd Saturday: Grill 57 (Garner) bigger turn out for this one

Most people arrive at the cruise-ins around 4pm and stay till dark.

Don't expect a large turnout this 3rd Sat. though, Charlotte Autofair is the 17 and 18.

just got back from a cruise-in. there's one in kannapolis every first sat of the month in cannon village (down town next to the old mill). its pretty good, a majority of the cars there are old muscle cars and maybe 3-4 ricers (thank *** theres not 20 billion like there is everywhere else). they usually have food and drinks there along with a statue/monument and a museum for dale earndhardt (dunno if i spelled that right).

also there is a Nascar technical institute dragrace at moorseville dragway sept. 25. free food and drinks. everyones invited.

How about that one truck stop in Benson/Dunn, I believe, right before you get on to 95. I think it starts with an S. They might be looking another diesel mechanic.

Yes...they are very slow about getting back to me....and they are one of the lower paying (as far as starting out) that I have talked with....my brother-in-law works for them....I like the company and the way that they take care of there people, but they are taking too long.....they supposedly need several tecs. right now and are getting flooded with applications so wee will see. Thanks for looking out!!!

V6Camaroman

Try to get Larry Hunter as your instructor, he is real laid back and lets you do a hell of alot more on hands stuff than the other instructors.

Anyone know of anywhere that is a little "easier" on inspections? Pm me! I need a place that won't mind the 5% on the back, and 10% on the sides!
(Raleigh, Cary... area)

Thanks!

i cannot speak for raleigh specifically but...

down here in goldsboro i was told by the guy who does my inspection that on a car as old as mine (91) the just do the usual inspection.......i.e. no tail pipe and since it is obd1 they don't evern plug it up to the computer just a "sight" inspection.

mine's due will let you know what happens.

atleast some1 would. every1 else is too busy hanging out in front of walmart to actually come race.

but ive never seen u, which is odd cuz i about break my neck if i see a third gen to get a good look at it.

have u by chance seen mine, gunmetal gta with the painted black gta wheels? Its hasnt been in goldsboro as much lately because i live in pikeville, but im there atleast once a week. its a daily driver so im always on it

LOL!! "wal mart parking lot"

better to look good than to be good i guess. besides i am WAY to old to hand out in parking lots.

my step son (23 yrs old) tried to find a race with his audi s4 one nite at wal mart. i was suprised no takers.

i have seen a grey gta but don't recall the wheel. sounds like a nice car.

i think pikeville got farther away since the gas prices topped $3 per gallon

there is a white rs conv around here but i think i have the only z conv.

so if you see a white Z conv. don't foret to wave.

yep thats me, only grey gta around. Depending on when you saw it, its pretty loud. i havent seen any other gta's tho at all. i saw a burgundy T/a with gold gta wheels and i was on my friends protege so i pulled in the driveway like i was lost and looked to see if it had gta emblems. but it wasnt.

ive tried luring some of them out of that little section in front of walmart, but all they do is stare. most of the cars dont even look good tho. And if u ask some1 in there to race, they usually say, i wont but i got some friends that might would. suprisingly their friends are never to be found

Ive seen an audi pull into walmart one day at the light making a left turn in. he spun going the whole way in there trying to hurry up and go in front of a car. pretty impressive

edit: and yes i did notice that pikeville got a little further away.

if it was a black audi s4 with virginia tags he would be dumb enough to pull that stunt.

he drove down about a month ago. he just knew he had the car to beat me. he tried 3 times with the same result.

he paid the price for his driving. after he got home the clutch pressure plate and fly wheel were toast. gave him something to do for the next couple of days. he's back going again, although a little slower now.

as for inspections in the raleigh area i just don't know. it like whole other country up there. as mr. gump would say.

i do know they changed the inspection laws but don't know if it changed wake county regs. i suggest you call someone (inspection station)and ask. if state law superceeded or replaced wake rules you should be in luck since we are obd 1.

best of luck!!

Any room for another 3rd gen down here in NC?

I'm a United States Marine, currently stationed at MCAS New River. I classup as a v22 mech(osprey) this monday, and should be getting my camaro sc w/ slp zr1 rims and 350HO this weekend. Hope to be rolling around Jacksonville come fri/sat.

See you guys on the roads, look for a viper red 87 sc, sleeper style. haha
