i go to nascar technical institute in moorsville (a hellasious 35 minute drive everyday) i have an 88 z28 camaro which is definitally a work in progress about to drop a new engine in it. another friend of mine has about 5 or 6 third gens at his dads that he's been working on with his dad for a while. definitly something to check out so if anyone ever has any meets or events that are coming up me and him would be glad to meet up and show off our rides with ya. although mine isnt much to look at right now its a work in progress like i said but it will atleast light the tires once i'm done. anyone local to me?

Wow dude, I didn't know you drove 35 minutes to get to school! I live in Troutman, so its 15 minutes for me. Mooresville sucks on traffic though, so I do all of my shopping in Statesville.

you say this like you KNOW its true. but i've look on a couple links you gave me in another thread and it doesnt say anything about 2006. where did you find this information and/or is there a catch?

i have heard the same from several mechanics and inspection stations. I also read it somewhere cant remember where. All inspection stations are going OBD II only for emissions january 1, 06.

And to the person that asked about the iroc hood, sorry don't have an extra

hey from down goldsboro way.

took my car for an insptection about 3 months ago. they told me all she needed was the "usual" inspection since it was a 91 and that is what she got. smiled all the way home.

the cat is as hollow as a prom queen's head too.

I'd be interested in helping organize a charlotte area meet after I get my Camaro done. Or if someone else gets one arranged before then I'll bring my fiero for kicks.

whats wrong with ur 3rd gen and when will it be done? we'd probably have to wait a few weeks anyways because my friend who has a 3rd gen also has to get his new cam + heads on. but if we want to start maybe planning a meet around here we can go ahead and let other 3rd genrs know and maybe make this think a decent size crowd. i've never really been to a "meet" or a "drive through" or what ever u want to call it so i dont know what you do exactly but i'd love to meet other 3rd geners and maybe learn a thing or 2 and check out everyones rides. let me know if anyone is interested in getting something going?

what is wrong with my camaro is that it is in pieces and has to be assembled. I was gonna do a 89 iroc but it turned out it had frame damage, so i got a 91 rs with a straight body just one dent in the roof and had a messed up hood and bumper. Then i gotta put in my interior pieces. the car had grey im going black with 4th gen seats, and it had a 3.1 im going with a 305 TPI.

I plan on getting my interior done this week. Only thing holding me up on the motor is i got to buy a Cam and headers.

well i have lots of friends from school (atleast 5 or so) that are total f-body fanatics and would love to have a meet but not all of them have 3rd gens. some have 4th gen trans ams and such but either way its still support so i guess if we get enough people to respond and be interested in a meet then we can get one going. or just go to one thats already planned. anyone who sees this thats interested ask around with some friends and see how many of you want to do a meet. i have at least 5 friends who are interested.

by the way most of my friends are from moorsville (which is where i go to school/NTI) so i dunno if that makes a difference. but if we do get a meet going it doesnt have to be in concord. besides i'm sure if i posted something around my school i could rally atleast a good 10-15 people/cars. but i guess before we consider a meet it'd help if i knew what you do in a meet since i've never been to one. do you just go somewhere and hangout and chat? i meant do you all drive together somewhere? what do you do?

Just let me know, we could host it at my business. but no real drive by traffic or good places around here. As it is in the back of an industrial/business park. I run a f-body parts business with my dad. But we got into a few niche cars which is how i got my fiero.

What is the name of your shop and where is it located. I like supporting local businesses?

No I don't but there is a drag race shop two doors down from my shop that builds rear ends for the drag car he builds. Don't know how much he would charge to build one for a third gen or what not.

I talked to my dad about hosting a gathering at our shop he is all go for it. How does Saturday July 9, 2005 Sound for everyone? There are a lot of windy backroads around here too so we could cruise around. Bad part is you would all have to follow my fiero since i dont think ill have my camaro back together in time. We could grill out or order pizzas just hang out. I can show people around the shop.

carolina rides did a meet at concord mills and got run off by security cause of the people revving their engines which is inevitable really. I agree with the restraunt and more visible location thing. I got a few people interested in coming down here but to me it doesnt matter. It is kind of a shameless promotion of my business lol. I could pass out fliers though. let me know cause I need to know whether or not i need to start prepping and getting the word out.

or what if we had the meet at an f-body shop? like f-body motorsports or something like that? that way we all could still meet and we could buy stuff we need if needed or maybe see some dyno tuning or whatever...i dunno just a thought.

Thought Jon was pretty good at carbs. Is a Demon? Matt & me did the demon on my drag car and it seems to be working good.
