I live down in Gulfport. There's always some kind of cruise-in down here. I've never been to the track in Byram or Hub city. I always go to Gulfport dragway. Maybe we can get a bunch of us together at one of the tracks. Gulfport dragway always has something going on.

I'm right in the middle in Hattiesburg. I know of several in Jackson and another guy here in the hub city. We should plan something sometime.

My car is unfortunately still in the body shop.. Oh well..

What day would be best? i work every other Saturday so i am hoping we can do it one Saturday i am off! Unless a Sunday is Ok? Not sure i can trust the car on a long trip she hasnt been anywhere over 20 miles! that whole 15 years old thing!

There are a few meets I hear about from time to time. A bunch of truck guys get together every month or so in Byram. Also, I was talkin to a buddy of mine last weekend, and he said there was a decent size gathering somewhere in Byram too, and it usually happens once a month also. (Ivon, that might be the one you saw, Did you happen to see a purple 88-98 Chevy truck?) Saturday would be alright, if I could make it, mid-morning would probably be the best, since I'm out working in the afternoon. Just let me know. I'll let y'all know next time I hear of any get-togethers in the Jackson area.

Shroom, get some pictures of that bad boy! Is your avitar you're actual car, or are those rims photochoped? I know you picked up some 17s that looked like that. I'm glad you got the green 'bird after reading about that whole ordeal with the yellow one!

Ivon, these cars don't do too bad on long trips, mine's made it to CTC for 2 years now!

Aviatar is the actual car, but the rims are slightly nudged to the 17" size. I usually don't pass off photochops, but I figured no one would catch it that small.

Yeah, the drive back from Michigan didn't have any issues, I just had to drive it off in the woods in my hometown.. I've got all the newly painted GFX and back bumper in my garage and I'm just waiting for him to get on the body. Everything's being stripped down to metal and repainted the stock color. The RA1 hood is looking pretty good in primer too!

Anytime on any weekend is good for me, though I may be in an Accord for the next few months..

Hey guys with alittle thought i thougt it should in Jackson somewhere so that all of the guys that are up north can come down if they want. Then if we decide to do it more often we can move it around! i am courious of the intrest on the get toghter!

My car is also detained but i would love to see this happen im sure i could scrap up an interesting third gen to bring!!

 

As of right now i am trying to think of a place to do it! I dont want it to be to far out of the way but i dont want to be in the way!
If the parking lot was bigger i would ask the boss if we could hold it there but we have a small parking lot!
Anybody have any ideas as to where we can have this thing? please let me know! i guess we could do it at one of the local drag strips like Byram or Canton!

Hi I'm new to this site, matter fact I'm new to this whole thing, I just bought my car from a friend and I'm working on restoring it. Its a '85 Caramo Z-28. Anyone have any Idea I would love to hear them.

The fair grounds would be a good place, but I don't know who to contact or what it would take to have it there.

 

DSmith what track do you go to? i want to take mine and see what it will do but i dont want to push it too much since it just became my daily driver!

 

Junkjard has test and tune on Friday nights, its $10 to run and $5 general admission. Byram is too short of a track,I think its like 500 feet or less from start to finish so I don't care for that. I'll check on Tuscola moter sports at Lena, They were gonna open back up last month after storm damage back in the fall. That would be a good place being its a full 1/4 mile instead of 1/8.

 

I have an RV dealership with 3acres of parking near the airport if everyone just wants to meet. Otherwise we could all go to Byram one night if for no other reason than to have a good thirdgen showing out there. How about this weekend? My lower spoiler should be back from the paint shop by then.

 

irocz where is the dealership? i live in Pearl behind skyway hills church! I think it would be cool for some of us to get togther this weekend! i have to work till 3 on Saturday though. I was gona try too. to see what the intrest was for this weekend or next!

It's on old whitfield rd. If you're headed east look to the right about 3/4 mile before the airport rd. exit and you'll see the motorhomes parked out there.

Well sorry fellas my plans got all messed up and the race is at lowes motor speedway tonight! I want to try to plan for next weekend! maybe we can try to meet a irocz's, and see how that turns out?

my spoiler isn't back from the paint shop yet so I didn't really want anybody looking at her just yet anyway. I'm up for next weekend. For right now how about a head count of who can come? Anybody want to email the other posters in this thread?

 

My girlfriend and I should be able to make it, thats 2 cars from our house. Just post a time.

 

You guys should make up the time i have to work till 3 on Sat so if you guys all want to meet up earlier than that, it's ok with me i can catch up!

 

The car is supposed to go into the paint booth Monday. Depending upon what I can get done Tuesday through Friday, I might be able to make it..

Since the next Monday is Memorial day, and some people might have off, what about doing it Sunday? That seems like it will help some people and give me one more day to get some things together I'm pretty sure the interior will consist of a driver's seat and a seatbelt, but the exterior should look good..

hey i live in skyway hills too, sadly was forced to sell my 91 z28 convert due to finiancial reasons a few months back, but as soon as i can get money back right i plan on another beast, but just to keep a 'maro around my wife does have a sad excuse of a 90 rs v6, but id love to take a look at everybodies camaros around, ive missed my drop-top like crazy. i live at the corner of henderson and baugh......my ex-brother in law used to have a pink 67 firebird parked there and my convert was there sometimes too, maybe youve seen em back in the day

I've seen the '67 Firebird. Didn't he used to keep it or work on it or something at a mini-storage place on hwy 18 out towards Raymond?

 

no he usually kept it here at the house until i sold it, which then it went to flowood and last time i saw it. it was on ebay for sale, but that was one fun car.......i was in heaven the week the fuel pump went out in my old z28 vert and i got to drive the car for a week back and forth to work

 

Car's not going to paint until tomorrow or Thursday now Since the whole front end was messed up the RA1 hood is linning up real good! He's adding a bit to one front edge to get the lines perfect though, I guess I can wait for that.

How about moving the meeting to Hattiesburg and everyone can help put the car back together..

Hey Shr00m, I feel your pain. My IROC was in the shop almost a year. Had to threaten a lawsuit for them to finally get it done.

well come hell or high water my spoiler had better be done before next weekend. they've had it 2 @#$%@%'in weeks. I'll start a new post with a poll.

 

next weekend would be better for me. I may not be able to bring both cars because my rearend didn't like the new mickey thompson drag radials, does fine in a straight line just pops and jerks when I turn.

 

do you guys plan to do this again? im in the middle of replacing my rear main seal and clutch. if this happens again i have a friend i can drag down with me from up here in memphis.
