Im looking at a parts firebird, well actually fireturd, its nasty...

PROS ~ 350TPI GTA WS6
CONS ~ tree fell on it

interior is trashed, gauges look good, got the radio button steering wheel in OK shape, all badges are stolen, the nice factory GTA wheels are gone, hood is ok, needs a ninor bend taken out and new luvers, front clip is fair, doors are fair, ground effects are trashed, hatch is trashed.....basicly only good parts are the motor, trans, driveshaft, rear end, and WS6 parts

unsure if motor runs, unsure of trans also, was told it was running good when the tree fell on it, but never seen it my self.

i friend is getting the motor, trans
im getting drive shaft, rear end, WS6 parts

rest of car will be parted

so anyway what sould i pay for this heap, it will have to be towed to my place (DUH)

Throw a battery in it and see if it starts. No point on wasting money if it doesn't run

I'd say $500 if it runs and lot drives......

$300 if you can't get it to run

What's the rear end on it? The 9-bolt 3.27?

yea its got the borg rear in it

it will take alot to get it to run i think its been sitting for 4 years or more, i guess if its turns thats a good sign, its going to ge tore down and re gasketed anyway.....

It could start, just gotta crank it.

I'd check to make sure the fluids are still full. Disconnect the ignition, and crank it to make sure it builds oil pressure. Once you see pressure, hook the ignition back up and light it.

Worse thing that happens is you hear it knocking and you know it needs a rebuild. Best thing it runs and you can drive it on the trailer......

yea, umm the jackass now ripped the ing cyl out, ....im thinking 200, as is, not tring to start it or anything, if he wants more he can try to get it to start, does this seem fair....as stated before its an 89 GTA WS6, crushed by a tree, only a few good exterior parts, i think the olny exterior part worth a darn is the hood and its in fair shape, a little work (fix a small bend and new luver thingies) and it would be a good hood for a GTA.....dont think the pop up headlights work, as its winking at you now, the NICE MINT factory wheels and center caps are gone, as is all the GTA badges... interior is SHOT all thats good is the gauges (maybe they LOOK good), the map holder, a few nick nack common dime a dozon parts..... the 350 TPI and 700r4 is going in an 82 Z28, and the alum drive shaft, rear, and WS6 parts are going on my 89 RS


BUT PLEASE POST SOME $$$$ AMOUNTS ON HERE, ABOUT WHAT I SHOULD PAY FOR IT BASED ON THE ABOVE INFO, I WANT TO SHOW THE OWNER OF IT WHAT THIRD GEN FANS THINK ITS WORTH, GIVIN WE DONT KNOW IF THE MOTOR OR TRANS EVEN RUN!!!!!

again guys for all the help so far, this was a subject i got into along time ago and have got alot of help so far, just need a little more

 

If the ignition cylinder is out, you can start and or crank it with needle nose pliers. I've done that once or twice....... lol

and I'd say try to start it before tossing out $$$ amounts. Keep in mind that scrap metal is really high right now. He could prolly get $350 out of hte complete car from a yard. Just so you know what you are competing against.

300 tops.. for a non-driver with potential damage that might cause it to be a parts only car... figure half of that for scrap value.. id say 300 is more than fair

 

yea i was thinking 300 at the most.......junk collecters and junk yards around here dont offer much at all, LOL they are like.

"we will give you $100 and tow it away for ya"

im going to see if i can get it to start, or atleast turn over, i highly doubt it will fire w/o some work.......this dang thing seems to be more of a PITA than helping me...... yall think its worth the time for the motor, trans, rear, and WS6 stuff

I ripped apart an 89 formula before the guy went to the yard just because I could have whatever i could take off before the wrecker arrived.

The driver was pissed, cause I left it sitting on the ground. Got the springs, a-arms, swap bars, K-member, rear, lca's, phb, spindles, etc off of it.

just paid 300bucks for a iroc-z body is in good shape the hood need some tlc along with the driver fender but other then that it a complete car except for the eng/trans.

so i would give them 250bucks they dont except that do 300..
