New Poster need help

This is my first post; I am the proud owner of a ‘91 305 V8 RS that is having timing/running issues! With the EST unplugged I have it timed to 6’ degrees TDC like I have read it is supposed to be, however when I plug the EST back in it throws my timing all the heck. What am I doing wrong? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Re: New Poster need help

welcome to TGO! Glad that you found us

What you are seeing is normal

you have to disconnect the est wire to take the computer out of the the mix. When you plug it back in, the computer is controlling the timing. If I recall, the computer is giving it about 20* or so of timing at idle.

good luck with your new project!
