Man I really wish I had thought to post this about a week ahead of the car show. For the little town of Franklin Kentucky I live in we have always had a kick azz car show much bigger and nicer than one would think for the size of our town. We get a lot of entries in the car show from a wide area being that we are located between Bowling Green, KY and Nashville, TN.

We have a great pancake breakfast, one of the side streets right off the square is always full of old time hit & miss engines, and we even have motorcycle category this year. Our town square is an actual square with the old historic court house located in the center with a beautiful courtyard, all 4 sides of the courtyard next to the street are lined with Japanese cherry trees with their beautiful blossoms and nice park benches on all 4 sides. No troubles either because the Sherriff's office and jail are one block off the square and the Police station is one block off the square on the other side. Fire department couple blocks away and hospital just a little over 2 miles away right down 31W which makes up one side of the square.

I hope some of you all that are close can come visit.

Old Simpson County Courthouse on the Square.

Cherry blossoms in spring.

Melvin the Magnificent made from horseshoes and chains by students of the local high school. We do have Kentucky Downs horse racing track here. The only European style natural turf horse racing track in the United States.

Kentucky Downs

Only horse racing track like it in the USA

First United Methodist Church of Franklin, KY on the square where Country Music Hall of Fame stars Johnny Cash & June Carter and Kitty Wells & Johnnle Wright were married.

Walk the Line.

If you don't Walk the Line you end up here. The Old Jail and Jailer’s Quarters.

I remember going there a time or two to get Grandpappy out after he got on a drunk on the weekend. Being captured behind enemy lines and tortured by the ***** and North Koreans will change a man.

For two months it rains enough to fill a thimble full. Morning of the car show... THUNDER STORMS.

Ha ha, sounds about right. Town looks beautiful. Thing I don't like about car shows, is there are always a few onlookers who don't respect the 30+ years you've spent keeping the car pristine. Just one accidental ring pressed on the paint, or a purse swung into it can wipe that away in a few seconds. I love attending, but always afraid to bring mine out.
