New to 3rd Gen- need help in AZ
hey guys, i just got an 88 IROC. i need to know who is dependable to take this car to. I bought this from a friend who put an LT1 into the car, but it has been sitting in his backyard for over 4yrs due to tranny probs. now the keys are lost, so im gonna have to have the entire car rekeyed. anyone know of a good shop in the valley i can trust? that wont screw me over? also, what kind of work can i be expecting. i know im gonna need new battery, belts, and a full fluid flush.. but what else am i looking at?

I've changed all my locks at one time or another (trunk, t-tops, doors & ignition). It may take you a full 3-4 hours to do all of them, but it is definitely do-able. I personally wouldn't waste my time re-keying, I would go and get a whole set from a junk yard and be done. The only tough(er) lock is the ignition, but I went ahead and bought the steering wheel lock tool and it makes that job easy.

Another thing you would need to look at it gettin the injectors cleaned since they have been sitting that long with fuel in them. I kow you can send them to Accel and they take the apart and clean them for like $10 each.
