Do you guys think their emissions compatible 350 is a good deal? It says it makes something like 326 HP and 389 ftlbs. I believe it's for $2200. Have any of you guys bought stuff from them?

For $2200 dollars.........if you already have an intake, carb, distributor, ect........you could EASILY get a 400HP motor. Wanna know how? Buy a 350 crate truck engine ($1100) Buy some new Vortecs ($450), get all the vortec specific stuff used, like the pushrods, guided rocker arms, and install LT4 roller cam ($150). There you go, 400HP. $2200 for 320HP sounds pretty lame to me.
the only problem there is that you will need to buy another intake because your intake wont work with those vortecs. but you also have to consider how much quality your getting for your cash. maybe the truck crate engine is all cast parts and the desert performance is forged? if you want to keep upgrading, you need to go for the quality of parts more than just the dyno sheet.

I'm REALLY doubting that a $2200 crate motor would have forged internals. I'm willing to bet the BRAND NEW $1100 GM 350 motor would last longer than the likely rebuilt desert performance 350 motor. Chevy Hi performance and Car Craft use that same $1100 Gm 350 to build up all kinds of 400+HP motors and they run great. I think they come with hyper pistons even.
