I edited the part about "not saying anything off-topic". It sounded more like a challenge than a warning, at least to me. Considering it's not your responsibility to keep a thread on-topic, I also felt that the remark was inappropriate.

This needs to stop. I will begin to edit your posts if you post snide, immature remarks. Let's just get along and the mods would have nothing to do in this forum.

We let you guys have plenty of freedom on the regional boards. We only ask that you obide by the rules of TGO that you AGREED to when you signed up. If you have a problem with the mods, PM or email the admins with a link to the thread that you are talking about. IROC (the admin) will deal with it.

Keep it on topic on TGO. As stated before, if you want off-topic discussion, take it to one of the "other sites". I even post on other boards, just to have some fun. If I can do it, so can others.

We mods have a thankless job on TGO, and do it for free. We do not get off on having to edit or delete posts or threads. People have worked very hard to make this site the best third-gen only site, and we rank very well on BigBoards.com. Consider that we specialize in only 82-92 Camaros and Firebirds, that is saying a lot!

What is so silly about what Chris said?

 

The constant bickering between members and mods has to stop, but its not entirely the members at fault. Go ahead and put me on probation too for speaking my voice I have sent an email to the webmaster of thirdgen because its obvious that their is a reason the southwest board is the only regional board with a mod/member dispute problem.

 

I agree that the bickering needs to stop. I try to get along with everyone. I see no reason for putting anyone on probation for voicing their opinion, as long as there is no bashing or derogatory comments. I am hoping to see some resolution to this situation.

 

I, too, am tired of the bickering. If you have something bad to say about a moderator, keep it out of a thread. period. The rules are very specific, stating this:

Do not post messages about site policy, criticism of Moderators, Administrators, or other Members. We have a Problems/Help/Suggestions/Comments Board for site policy, and Private Messages can be sent to anyone you have problems with or want to contact. You can also privately communicate through E-Mail.

Most of the members on this board are doing exactly what they are supposed to. The ones that aren't are the first ones to cry foul. I had complaints that I was deleting posts and not telling the person why. Umm you read the rules..right? Ok, so I'm wrong for deleting the post. The suggestion was to merely edit the post to make it more agreeable. Oops, wrong again, as I was told I needed to put the reason I edited the post, again, to avoid offending people. Now I'm being called silly for doing just that! So whats next...just delete the post?

Here is my reply. It has nothing to do with, nor against, you (Chris).
You and I both know, just as everybody else has stated on this
thread, what it's really all about.
Do I think it was necessary for you to "EDIT" my post? Not really.
It was a simple message to keep this kinda crapola from sparking
up agian, and you know what happened in the TGAZ thread was
totally uncalled for from the 'individual on probation'. I'm wondering
why that 'individual' is still given rights to post on here, when
everybody and thier mother knows how the 'individual' is...?.

Anyways, I appologize for making my thread go off topic... but
now I'm glad I did... cause it resolves everything about those kind
of people. I too moderate message boards and know why you
deleted the parts off my post. So I'm not angry with you, nor do
I think I ever could be. You're a great guy Chris. I just thought I'd
say it out loud.

 

Yeah I know what ya meant. lol But you know this is what I want
to do. The car isn't a limited edition, so it's not like I'm ruining it.
That's why I started to restore the Daytona TA, not continue it
into a KR conversion.

 

Guess I'm jumping into this one a little late, but just as Tom and Chris said, I in NO way want any kind of tension between the members and the Mods. I'm dying to get some sorta gathering together again. I had a blast in Tucson way back when with you guys. Heck, I think it's kinda kewl we were the FIRST official 'Region' here on TGO. (Don't forget where Dirk is from ) This is very much so a thankless job. Like many Mods here I oversee a second board and it's one of the highest visited tech forums, and get to deal with enough stuff there. None of us in any way get off deleting/editing stuff here. Please, lets get this place back to where it used to be!

I find it amusing that all the moderators view their status as a "job." Its not a job, its your own choice to do it. This is a community forum where people come to relax, have fun and talk about cars, so lighten the **** up people. Does it in any way effect any part of your life that is remotely important (ie: your real job, family, health??) No. Just my 2 cents.

So don't worry, everybody just be happy.

Ok that being said, I think 90RS is right on the money. We need to all get together again and laugh about how silly we're all acting on a WEBSITE!!! Its just the iNTERNET NOT LIFE!!! I'd like to get within the same zipcode as mark with his formula so we can settle some bench racing

 

Which individual would that be? The "On-Probation" crew is so large we took over the Alcoholics Anonymous meetings from the local meeting hall.
