Haven't decided if I like it yet or not, but its definitely different. If i decided to put a wing back on, it will be a fiberglass aftermarket 92 GTA style wing. I'm on an ongoing quest to get my firebird under 2899 race weight
Last time at track I weighed in at 2990, this was 40 pounds worth of crap today (rubber spoiler, struts, rear storage compartment). Here's a few updated motor pics as well, I know its dirty, didn't feel like cleaning it after spending 4 hours filling and sanding in the holes on the hatch!
Can't post pics without a motor pic!

Definelty get yourself that fiberglass wing man. Bird's and 'Maro's just don't look right without them IMO. And are you trying to get that race weight down to meet a specific criteria? Or is it just a goal you have? Anywho, still a sweet car!

Yeah, plan is to get that reproduction 91-91 aerowing, but not for a while, so thats why I filled in the holes for now. I want my car to weigh 2899, its a personal goal, because I've been told it can't be done on a "street" thirdgen with carpeting and a dash, but I'm getting close.

ITs so funny how your car weighs 2990 and you have a cowl hood and all kinds of other stuff taken out of your car. I still have the stock hood and all the ac vents and carpet in side the only thing i have taken out is the back seats and my car weighs 3110 and that was with the n2o system in side the car.

And in case you can't subtract.........3110-2990= 120 pounds. Thats a LOT of weight, not to mention that 2990 was WITH a 40 pound rubber wing and motorized headlights you dont' have so that more than makes up for your nitrous system weight. Don't forget I have a nitrous system too, and the only tihng that wasn't in the car when I weighed it was the bottle. The brackets, plate, heavier cheater solenoids, ect, were all in there. Your hatch doesn't have any holes or clips?? oh btw that rubber wing is JUNK. Both bolts broke off inside the wing when I took it off, otherwise I still woulda offered it up to ya. When I took it off, giant chunks of rust and rubber fell out of it. Member

Clips, yes. But holes, no. Thats why the hatch is half primered :P I also spent like 4 hours making sure that thing was perfectly smooth. I just left it the way it is for paint...but yea...its been like over a year now and its still like that, lol. I think I'm selling it for sure this time...Ha dont worry bout the wing, I kinda figured it would be like that. I know mine was, ALL of the things inside of the wing that hold the clips came out with the clips when i took mine off.

Wipers are still in place for legallity purposes though. In tucson all you need is rainex. Besides, this isn't my daily, if it rains, I drive my mustang. TGO Supporter

If your just running the ps pump and alt, couldn't you just use some deep v-belt pulleys and brackets? Might save some weight removing the a/c serp bracket and tensioner.

Well, the only thing that stops me from converting to serpentine is that every car with V belts and a high revving motor I've ever had threw belts like a bitch, and not to mention I got a killer deal on that Victor Jr. water pump ($30) so if I went with V belts I'd be throwing away that deal. I do want to convert to manual steering box though.
