HA! How did I know this thread was gonna pop up on the boards?! Yeah, he got me, not by much, but there wasn't a point in time where I was gaining. He even got the holeshot on me. Once I get a clean air filter and a decent tune I have a fealing the outcome might be a tad different, though

It was fun non-the-less. You're gonna have to crash at my place/vise-versa so we can wake up and tango when our cars have had a chance to get nice and cool. That should throw an interesting wrench in the gears.

holy crap, 16 hours to swap rearends?? I think the longest I've ever done a rearend swap was like 7 hours, and that was with many many beer breaks.

Bruce - skeered... lolmfao... opportunity knocked and i answered, chris needed a POS rolling axle and i needed a better one.. haha its really nice though, u should get one... but now both of our speedo's are off...

Yes... it's still there and would work fine. But I need to keep the tranny intact and I'm sure he doesn't want to buy ANOTHER 700R4 when that's what he already has.

Besides.. the trans & engine are going as a package to a guy putting the combo into a Jeep.

depends on what gear is in the tranny

did you bother to look?

washing that car would save you .3 at the track

There's 2 gears in the tranny that need to match your gear ratio. The one on the VSS and the one in the tranny. You can get it close with just changing the one but not very accurate (read as not driving with speedo at 54 MPH in 45 MPH zone)

Even with your current gears your speedo will read 18% faster than you're really going. For example... if your speedo says 50 MPH you're really going 41 or 82 at 100 . This will do funky things with torque converter lock up.

The bottom line is find out what color gears are in your tranny now and we can go from there.
