temple Texas

Does anyone go to the little hillbilly dragstrip outside of Temple? I was there last Friday but there wasnt any third gens. There was 2 firehawks a bunch of stangs and the rest was pretty much Rice and trucks for the truck shootout. I did see a silverado do 14.44 which I didnt think was too shabby.

Re: temple Texas

Where is that track located.. I tried to find it on http://maps.google.com but the directions on the website aren't exactly helpful. "9mi south of Temple on Hwy95"

Anyone know the nearest cross street on Hwy95 next to the track.. to give me a general area to look?

Thanks

Re: temple Texas

Not an EXACT point, but pretty close. The strip is 9 miles south of Temple, on HiWay 95

Map of: SR-95, Temple, TX 76501

I'm just surprised this post was in the Southwest Regional, not the South Central Regional board.

Is this it?
http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&...20084&t=h&z=16

"9 miles" is kinda difficult to measure when you don't know where to start measuring. Center of the city to 9mi out. is that 9mi. as the crow flies or 9mi of highway 95.
What they should say on their site is "Just north of Orchard Ln. on Hyw95 South of Temple."

Re: temple Texas

It's actually in Academy, TX... I haven't been to the races there in many, many years, but I drive by it about once a month or so. I haven't seen anybody out there in a couple of years or so.

Re: temple Texas

I have raced there a few times, its a crappy track and hard to hook up. Everyone I know runs .5-1 second quicker at a good track like Houston Raceway park.
