TDS Door hinge replacement service details:

As I mentioned before TDS is getting ready to offer F-Body door hinge replacement service. Here is the cost breakdown:

Standard (non-greasable) door hinges: $72 per door + $15 labor = $87 per door

Deluxe Greasable door hinges: $106 per door + $15 labor = $121 per door

Both versions of hinge have been improved by having the pins electroless nickle plated for improved lubricity. If a pair of either version of hinges is ordered, the lower hinges are included for free. I also include a mini grease gun with the pair of deluxe greasable hinges. These prices include 8.25% CA Sales Tax. Check Andy's web site for details of the hinges: http://www.3rdgensolutions.com

Please e-mail me if you want to order a set and schedule the conversion. I'll be placing my first order for inventory this week based on the initial orders I receive. If you want to order the hinge kits without installation, just deduct the labor for your cost. Shipping would be additional.

It occurred to me that some of you may not want the mini-grease gun. I can deduct $9 (my cost)from the pair of greasable fitting kits if you don't want the gun. Just let me know and I'll order it without the gun.

I have recd one sample of each kit, also a worn hinge and refurbished as show samples. I am waiting for an order of parts from GM to finish my mods to the door hanging tool. It was a universal style tool that would have worked as-is. But I modified it to work better. It barely fit under my door and even thoough my car has lowering springs installed some of you are lower yet. I dropped it about 2" further where it jacks under the door. I also had to modify it to work with Firebird & Camaro GFX. I have to place my order for hinges yet. I spoke with Andy Saturday and he will have stock for me soon. I'll contact him timorrow to see how the stock situation is. Also, just a FYI, according to Andy, he is finding doors on even newer (91-92) cars with minimal passenger door use that have right side hinges in need of refurbishing. Not so much because of the amount of openings/closings, but because the door plays an integral part in the body structure. As the car body is loaded and unloaded (as the body flexes) the hinges become worn. My plan is to replace the hinges on my car first. Both as a demonstration vehicle and to gain familiarity with the process. I highly recommend replacing the door striker post as well and have ordered several sets from GM.
