Camaro Performers issue stinks!...
Not only are there NO 3rd gen related articles/features, they also made a pretty good goof-up.
The T.O.C. lists a Wilwood brake up grade on a 4th gen. Yet when you read the actual article (and in spite of all the 4th gen pictures), they not once but TWICE, state they're doing an upgrade on a "Third Gen. F-Body". Major "DUH" factor.
No wonder there's no 3rd gen articles. It appears their editors think the F-Body jumped from 1981 straight to 1993.
On another note, I did notice that the 4th gen. PBR calipers look close to the 3rd gen. 1LE calipers. I'm curious if they would swap since 4th gen parts should be abundant. The 4th gens. also use 4 piston calipers instead of 2 piston. Makes me go hmmmmm....

Uhm, we don't have four piston calipers.
Yes the rears are the same as the 3rd gen 1LE (single piston), but the fronts are not 4-piston, they are dual piston.

George,
Well, the article did state that the Camaro they're using is a former GM test mule. It has 4 piston PBR's up front with 2 piston PBR's in the rear.
They upgraded to 13" and 12" Wilwood rotors with 6 piston calipers in front and 4 piston in back.

The next time I'm at the market I'll check the issue again. I want to look closer at their install pictures.
The more I think about it, I think editors made another big goof. Most likley their project car has factory 4th gen brakes - i.e. 2 piston PBR's up front, single piston in back.
I'm also thinking they only installed a 4 piston Wilwood upgrade up front with dual piston in the rear. Not 6 piston and 4 piston as they stated.

Since I have a 4th gen and have been looking at brakes recently, I have a comment
I have not seen the article, but if they are going with the latest Wilwood offering for 4th gens, then they probably did install a 6 piston in front and a 4 piston in the rear. As far I've been able to find out, that's the only app Wilwood makes for 4th gens.
This is what I' going to do on my 99 next month sometime.
