Just wondering how the old 85' California IROC is doing... ? Have you been working on it, or still waiting ?

I went by Don's shop this morning to go over the engine I want him to build for me. I was going to build it, but realised I don't have the time. He has a good 305 roller cam block he offered to anyone who would haul it off. He is going to use it to build an engine for me. We are looking at Kieth Black pistons, a Crane cam, Vortec heads, and 1.6 rockers. I'm planning to use the Hooker shorty headers like Doug Glad had on his car. Don's desk top dyno predicted 330 hp with 350 #ft. of torque. I'll be running tpi with the Scoggin Dicky base. Right now I'm waiting for the weather to cool off just a bit more to put the transmission back into my "beater" truck, then I'll order out a set of Alston sfc's and tow it into Don's shop for installation. I'm not looking for a drag race car, just something I can use on Hot Rod Power Tours, Super Chevy shows, etc when I retire without being embarrassed. I saw the t56 Don has at his shop for his RS. It looks awsome! I think I'll live with the 700r4 to start with at least, but I'd like to put in one of those t56s someday.
