tech inspection

So for the last couple days I had been hearing some strange thumping noises coming from the rear, as I thought. Then once in a while I'd feel a thump under my seat and by my feet. So yesterday I was installing my remote starter solenoid I went over the LCAs, PHR, and other fasteners looking for play or something loose. The suspension was tight. So I go over the front and didn't find anything there. So after knowing it wasn't in my head as I was re-adjusting my pinion angle I went over everything again by tapping them with a rubber mallet. Upon touching my left-rear caliper I noticed it moved more than it should. Then I realized only 3 of 4 fasteners were holding my backing plate on, and all those were loose - to the point of the bolts being able to move freely

all is good now. But I must say the rear 1LE rear brakes/calipers look like a nightmare to remove. Swapping pads on those puppies looks like a PITA. It looks like it's easier to remove them by unbolting the carrier. But then again I'm probably not seeing them right and they are probably esy as pie.

You're right, you are not seeing it correctly.
All you do is remove one bolt, lift the caliper pull out the pads and drop in new ones.

I figured I was wrong. I guess I'll need to give it a second look. One bolt ehh?

Thanks,
James
