Has anyone in Ca done a ls1 swap and gotten it to be certifided and pass smog. also if so what are the smog components that would make this kind of swap legal.

 

I don't know of anyone who has done it. To pass smog you would need to upgrade all of the smog equipment to ls1 specs. The best way to do it would be to buy a totaled 1998 or later Camaro or Firebird with the ls1. Then you would need to swap the engine, ecm, engine harness, and all smog sensors into the third gen. You would have to make a third gen into a fourth gen under the body as far as the engine is concerned.
