PHP Forums...

A while ago I offered to provide hosting and PHP forums to the club so they can have their own official club forum and was told that the club didnt need it... Once again I am throwing out the idea so that no one has to go through 7 steps to find the forums (as mentioned in another post). Since I do hosting, I typically charge for the forums, and am DONATING the forums. Again, if you guys dont want them (dont know why you wouldnt) then dont take them... but the offer still stands.

Well that would be a step in the right direction, but its up to "the club" It would be great if we could a get a webpage going for the club too, but our own message board would be a great start!

Just set it up and offer a fair, friendly place where people can come hang out, chat, and they will come if they want to. Think of it this way, the majority of who uses what you build, they are the people who are not biased in their opinions and they are the ones you really wanna be friends with.

Well, David.. I had offered this to SC3G a long time ago and would only really ake the time to do it for the club. I wouldnt really build a forum for a Thirdgen general site because this is what this site and forum is for, and lets face it, there will never be as much content as this site can offer.

Ive just think that its confusing for people to come here for the first time and see "Southern California Area" and then get inside and be told that this is a club message board. I felt that since I have the means to host and donate a professional forum for the club, I should.

What I said was that I didnt have a problem with SC3G, I do not care to be a member, but can still show support and donate something to help out. If you want to decline my donation, then so be it. Even though there wasnt much support for GS3 from you, I have no problems showing support for a 3rd gen community no matter WHO is in charge of it.

My feeling is we get more exposure on this site than we would on another site or board.

It hasnt been working since about a month after Nick changed his server. So... that was probably a year ago, or thereabouts.

Yep its been gone for almost a year now...I thought someone was going to try and get the info from the misterious Nick awhile ago so we can reclaim our site...I think we do get a bit of exposure being on this site, but its the people that dont even know theres a following for these cars that would really get us more members...theres qutie a few thirdgens in my town and at my college that are very nice, but I never seem to catch the owners with there cars and I cant write down a web address on a card cause our site is dead...If we could at least get a link pointing to here from our "club site" that would be a start!

I guess beggers can't be choosers, but then the offer was made to us, we didn't ask.
I agree with Kevin about the exposure, but as Chris and I were discussing, there is nowhere we can put info about us and our cars.
The GP club uses a national site and most have a pic of their car with their posts, bet that uses up computer space.
I guess we could put this web addy on a card with the note "go to So Cal area".
CLub needs some reliable dedication. And for those who don't know me, I have put my time in with previous clubs. I will help on a case by case basis but nothing even resembling semi permanent.

We are currently in negotiation to get a FULL club web site up and running. If it all works out we'll have a message board, live chat room AND a members area where you all can post pics and info. about your cars.

If it goes thru I'll post further details.
