The latest victim.....

...of the mysterious fuel system trouble plaguing some of our cars.

Mine died this morning while idling at a light. If I let it sit it will refire and idle. I can even rev it 2 or 3 times, then it starts to sputter and then die.

I'm thinking it's the fuel pressure regulator. Once I get my fuel psi gauge on it and perform another test Don recommended I should know what the exact cause is.

Don't overlook the ignition module if the fuel pressure is good. Mine went out like that. Eventually it stopped firing at all though. Plugs were nice and black.

The ignition module isn't that old in my car. I replaced it about 4 years ago with an Accel unit at the same time I installed my Accel 300+ ignition box. That doesn't mean however that it couldn't be acting up.

I'll probably replace the cap and rotor while I'm checking the car so I'll inspect the module while I'm at it.

Funny you say that. Mine(new from msd) died in less than two years. I've got full msd ignition minus the box.

You can just check the plugs to get an indication of whether you're getting good spark or not, and search from there.

I sure have had some weird fuel problems too though, Don and Kevin can tell you stories.
