hey anyone going to lacr on wendsday? cause i'm going to be going i want to get some stock times for my gta. i'm going up there with acouple other car, 71' camaro ss, eclipse gst, and an eclipse gsx. how busy is lacr on wendsdays? what do u think i will run all i have is !cats and a flowmaster, so stock lol. i'm thinking like 14.3.-14.7 maybe. How much do u think the 3.23 and the alum drive shaft will help? should i through on a open k&n filter or just leave the stock one?

 

14.3 - 14.7 at a sea level track, but LACR is at 2900'. Your times will be more like high 15's like mine were... Good luck and look out for the black 2001 Camaro SS that prowls up there.

 

that's right i forgot lacr is way up there. what little free mods should i do before i go?

 

LACR on wednesdays is usually not very busy. You'll see about 10-20 domestics, and 20-25 imports, some 10 second cars and street bikes. Chances are you will run about low 16s to high 15s as Kevin said.

Don't sweat the 2001 Black SS, it used to prowl up there, not any more. My bone stock run up there in my SS was 13.8 @ 98, with a 2.4 60' ... I was able to improve with to a best of 12.75 @ 105 with a 1.74 60'. This track, if you seriously learn, hooks as good as Pomona. I know this track very well and can tell when it is going to hook and when it is not. Don't expect decent numbers if this is your first time out there.

 

Crank your initial timing up to 10 degrees, and make sure your air filters are clean.

 

just for the hell of it should i through some 104 octane gas in my car? i can get it it for free. my friend bought 104 but he needed 110. i think i am going to bump up my fuel pressure to if i have time.

 

No, you dont need high octane gas for racing at altitude. In fact it might hurt you. Straight 91 should be fine. That's also why I suggested advancing the initial timing, as lean air likes more timing. If it pings just back off the timing.

 

And don't up the fuel pressure....lower it. No air=to much fuel
