Jim Wangers was at the POCI show and gave a lecture on the new GTO and old GTO commericals.
The new GTO will be released in Dec 03 as a 04 model, it will share body lines with the GP without a hood scoop, maybe one on the 05 model- why is a long story.
It is using the LS1 retuned to bring on the HP and Torque earlier in the power band. rated at 340hp, where the new Caddy and Vette are rated at about 400hp. Jim test drove one and guesses 13.4 -13.5 at about 103 1/4's off the floor.
Only options are 6 speed or automatic.
Only about 17K will be built every year so if it is popular expect dealer markups. Sticker price to be about $35K.
No converts are planned, but with body on frame design it would be a easy conversion.
