Holiday dinner ???
Since the org thread got off on a tangent and I think we need a FINAL decision
Is the dinner at Knotts?
Are we meeting at the park at a certain time or everyone when they can?
What time are we getting in line at the resturant?
Just thought I would ask.

Tom,
I guess you didn't read my post entitled - Dec. 6 Meeting Minutes :nono:
Here is what I posted:
I'll check with Lon and see what he found out.
I guess you didn't read my post entitled - Dec. 6 Meeting Minutes :nono:
Here is what I posted:
Well, we topped last year's Dec. meeting and had a record 7 people in attendance!
We began by watching a Camaro video (for the hard to please enthusiast) provided by Top Down Solutions. From there we jumped into club business. It was decided that we'll officially post the link for the club web site so everyone can start using it. We'll also be looking for feedback to pass on to our webmaster Frank. Let us know if you like the site, if a feature isn't working ...etc. Thanks again to Frank and Nick for getting this all set up.
Another topic of discussion was the Holiday Dinner. Knott's Chicken Restaurant will be the venue of choice. Lon will be in that area this week and is going to check on getting a private room reserved. We also discussd the gift exchange and we will forego a club exchange and instead encourage everyone to bring an unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more for the Knott's Toys for Tots Drive. By bringing a toy for the drive you receive free entrance to the park. Some of us will probably make a day out of it and head over to the park early to check out the rides and Knott's Christmas Village.
After Lon checks on reserving a room we'll designate a meeting time and location for the dinner.

No advance group reservations available. All December Saturdays have been booked in advance since August. They can still accomodate us though. Plan to be at the restaurant ready to be seated at 6:00 PM. Allow roughly 10-15 minutes to park and walk back to the restaurant. I'm planning to arrive earlier and bring a toy for the Toys for Tots fund drive for free admission to the park. I'll keep checking the length of the line beginning around 5:00 PM and will get in line then. They indicated that the wait should be roughly 45-1 hr. If you're arriving early to do the park, then park your car in the long-term amusement parking. If you're just going to the "Holiday Dinner", then park in the short-term (first 3 hr. free) parking on the left side of the road as you enter the park from Beach Blvd from the North. If you want to hook up as a group earlier in the day in the amusement park or have any questions call me on my cell phone (626)695-0361. If you haven't already please post and confirm that you are attending.
Thanks, Lon

You'll have to sit on Santa's lap in the amusement park and get your picture taken for it to count as a meeting.

James is right… Pahrump is a long way to go just to let him chase me around the track. Besides I couldn’t let all of my fellow enthusiasts down by not supplying the “entertainment” for dinner tonight

Oops. I got there too late! I left work late and got stuck in traffic and got lost and got to Knotts at a quarter to 7. I didn't see anybody I knew inside or outside the restaurant, so I left. (Luckily I had another thing to go to that started at 7 and had dinner there.)

We're sorry you missed us
Here's what you missed.
As far as ETs on finishing up the chicken, well, I'd like to think I was a contender.

Thank you to everyone who attended. Those that didnt missed out. Julie, sorry you were late. We had to go in right at 6pm to keep our reservation. Next time make sure you get someone's cell phone number.
We had 15 people show up, and food and fun was had by all.

There were a couple new faces to me as well as some weak-@ss-unsupported-dreamer-smack talking going on on my end of the table. Parking was awefule but overall it was a good evening. I can't wait for the couple next to me to spend all that money just to lose on the strip. That race and when Vince ever breaks Mike's time will be the only reason to take the Blue Bunny out of retirement.

I was dissapointed that we had roughly 10 "no-shows". I'm glad we didn't wait any longer though. I tried. I stayed outside until nearly 6:10, but we had to head in for dinner or lose our reservation for the table. To those that missed the dinner, sorry you couldn't make it or call me for whatever reason. You just increased the odds for those that did show up to win the two TDS prizes I raffled off. Kevin L. won a 105021 TDS Steering Brace. Jon Van Buren won a $20 TDS gift certificate. Dinner was great as usual. I think only Bret and I took advantage of the Toys for Tots entry into the park. It was nice to see everyone that attended.
Thanks, Lon

Nope, we went in too.
Just a few people there.
Arrived at the park at noon, rode the calico mine train, and Jaguar and barely made it to the resturant by 6pm.
