BDS Dyno

I have the name of the Dyno place that could be possible to set up a Dyno day with part of the equipment we need.. They tune Blowers Sc's and Dfi So they must have a wide band..

I do know who would need to go to the dyno in order to have all the equipment.. Tools etc..

And it could be possible to Pair cars up if it's looking a hour could tune 2 cars.. I don't want to hear it's in possible to have a good Dyno day and get every one tuned.. I know this.. We need more positive ends on these matters.. If you are serious and want to per take in a Dyno day.. This is where im going to have The Red Roc tuned out with the Dfi.. I wish also we could have done the Magna flow dyno day, But then we know anything is possible.. But I want to be ready fully tuned so when I hit the track.. I can make my best pass, and know the only way it get's better is the next Mod..

Here is what I found out today. At BDS it is actually Harv's Perfomance Center that has the dyno. Virtually in the same building. He wants $100 an hour no matter what or how many cars. If you want to use his wideban O2 sensor it is an extra $80 an hour. The O2 sensor is not included on the graph/printout. He only works from Monday through Thursday but late at night if necessary.

If we were to set up for Saturday it would have to be special and he would have to get someone to do it. He has the Dyno Jet dynometer. Phone number is 562-907-7834 and the actual address is 12221 Rivera Road, Whittier. The BDS address also works for finding the place. By the way for $150 per hour they will do the tuning. For about $8000 they will put an LSI engine in your 3rd gen. Price depends on the cost of the engine at the time. Didn't asked about Jaguars. Hehehe Bruce.

I also checked out Superior Automotive in Buena Park/ Anahiem. For clubs they want $40 per car and that is good for two pulls and we can tune. They are close to the 91 Freeway and where the 5 crosses. For more pulls per car we would have to talk with the owner. Sounds like $20 per pull per car. On Saturdays they are only open until noon but could stay until 1:00pm again confirm with the owner. They also have the Dyno Jet and an O2 sensor with no extra charge. The O2 sensor is not shown on the graph/printout.

Their address is 2675 W. Woodland Drive, Anaheim, Ca 92801. Phone is 714-503-1880. Owners are Joseph and Arleen Jill. Arleen would be the contact and she was not there when I was there. I was impressed with the nice shop. Allen

For that price I wouldn't bother with either of those places. There are several places to dyno your car that include wideband O2 reading PRINTED on your dyno print out. Most places will not allow time in between runs to tune your car, because it takes too much time ... they just want you in and out as fast as possible to get everyone on the dyno that signed up. With participants making changes in between there runs, it can easily go from a 9-3 event to a 9-6 event. Then they have to pay the person working the dyno overtime, which equates to a higher cost to you guys. Or who ever set up the event, I have seen this happen before to a friend of mine ... he got stuck paying the difference which was about $200. If you want to dyno tune, I would say keep the participants down to 10 entrants, but expect the cost to be about $100-$125 for an all day event. That is a bargain! With an event costing $40-45 (average rate) per person (for three runs), don't expect to change much ... especially if you have a group of 20 or so.

Here are some places I know that include a printed wideband O2 on your results page:

Extreme Motorsports
Swanson Performance
Los Angeles Performance Division
The Dyno Shop
Dyno Works

Good Info there Allen and Gpl.. Well will see what's up..

I really don't know who's looking to want to Tune and Dyno.. So far it's just me and Allen.. You know next year we know already what times we need to match or beat for the 1/4..

Yeah Allen Gene had told me Harvs was right there also.. I guess something has to do with tuning.. What I have heard with Gene that the guy is a good Dyno tuner.. But I don't like the wide band price.. But I could consider this.. Even if I had to Dyno with Lm1 and get tuned in with that, Then later tune wide band.. It wouldnt matter.. I need one good tuning on Dyno so the car is ran full Wot In 4th as I have the full wot valve and get those dyno numbers, and see how close my combo matched dyno 2000..

Okay, I checked on www.dynojet.com and found numerous places here in California. One in Stanton which is about 10 minutes from my house and he records the O2 sensor data on the same paper. I will pay him a visit this afternoon. Brothers in Corona looks friendly as they do clubs on Saturday and with friendly rates. I'm still searching George's list.

I noticed that Mustang Dyno also has a list of customers here in California. Plenty of places to contact. Just have to find the right place. Allen

Here's my $.02:
As far as doing group Dyno Days, I think it pretty much has to be strictly get one or two pulls for $XX and that's it. IMHO, it's too much to ask a shop to do a special day just for us and have 20+ plus people show that want to test, tune and tweak.

If you just want to get a baseline or a new dyno number, then the group deal is good. The cars get in and out fairly quickly and the price is often reasonable.

We did one of these a few years back at Jenning's Dyno. It was $40 per car and you got one pull - NO tuning, NO changing PROM's or ECM's, NO asking the shop to bust out the laptop and program a DFI.

It was just a way for everyone to get hp numbers for their car at whatever stage of mods it was at, at a reasonable price - that's it. It made for a cool club event and didn't demand too much of the shop, which was normally closed on Saturday.

Now, if you've just upgraded your combo and want to get a few pulls with tuning, chip changing ...etc in between - then I recommend making your own arrangements rather than looking for a GP deal.

Very understandable.. I think myself would do this.. Go my own tuning with Bds for the dfi tuning.. And if there is a club dyno day next year.. Id dyno with my ecm with you guys.. No tuning.. Even if it's just on lm1.. And do the pull..

I'm in for a dyno only. However if there are to many I will drop out or be last in line if time looks like an issue. It is $40 dollars (club price) apiece at Superior Automotive for two pulls on a Saturday morning. Allen

I'll set it up at Superior Automotive. Let's see how many are interested. It will be for two pulls only at $40.00 each. They are open from 8:00am to 12:00 noon on Saturday's. I can be there at 8:00am to get things going. I figure two to three cars per hour so everyone should be there by 9:00am. So Far we have the following.

1. Brandon
2. 1Baddam
3. Killjoy
4. MikeDirntRulez
5. Vincent
6. Allen
7. 89******bird

Anyone I missed? By the way I just had 3 pulls done on my car. The first was the best and I kept losing about 1 hp per pull as the car heated up. So two pulls should be sufficient. The automatic transmission cars will show about 5% less horsepower on the dyno than the stick shift cars. Allen

Cost is $40 per person. The address is at 2675 W. Woodland Drive Anahiem. Roughly where the 5 crosses the 91 freeyway. Just North of La Palma between Beach and Magnolia. Allen

I will be heading over to Bds at 3:00 today.. It's going to be a long night for me.. I have been busy all week.. I still needed to check a few things over.. Other than working with all these other issues as where I want the car to be..

The 7730 runs great for the street.. Esp with the 100 octane.. It does not like any thing else..

I had a good morning run yesterday.. Gene came by my house an we toned down the timing in the dfi just the night before.. Once the air got hot it ran rich at idle at a light and it just died.. I was limping over to H.B area there to fill up 100 octane.. So I had to swap back in the 7730 an sit in the front of the traffic light waiting for the fuel to clear out some.. A couple people were made at me for about a few minutes.. I just don't know about people..

The set up is not reliable right now.. Im dealing with these issues right now.. No o2 readings No knock readings.. This is getting serious.. Im being cool.. But Branden is a cool guy but when it comes down when he is totally stressed out.. Im 5150.. So no more frikin Games about the heads.. Here is the Fax's

I really did not want to do this this way.. But I can see most of you are getting Concerned..
How things are turning out for me..

Im am neutral.. I don't dislike any one here.. I do my best to treat each an every one of you right..

Ok now down to the Faxs.. I really wanted to surprise you all at Fontana the last time.. Well let's start with the 1st.. I showed up and I knew I was not ready to run.. It was to soon..
Now this time I really wanted to put on a surprise.. Track Ready tire and all.. There was going to be No problems with keeping traction.. I was going to pull my numbers.. And Tell you all how I did it..

So the Fax's are.. Don did not build me a 350 That's not my block in my car... That's a Forged Stroker Motor.. Internally Balanced.. I put a lot of money into the 400 crank.. Just to hide the surprise.. So I expose Now I have a 383ci in my car.. The surprise did not work.. Because when I don't show at the track This Saturday Most of you are going to think what's Up with that Branden he is flaky.. So I must say I won't be making it to Fontana This Saturday and I am terribly sorry.. A lot of people wanted to see the car run.. I was going to bring my family and part of my fiance's family to watch the event..
My girl rode in my car the other day for the 1st time in a very long time.. And the car frikin died.. I thought I was building some trust in her and I actually got her in the car.. Considering it does not smell like Fuel..

How ever I do have some good news and it will answer why it was ok to Dyno With a Bad 02.. I tuned on the Wide band o2 on the Dyno.. I had ignition all under control.. The car was ran 5,500 only.. Untill all is checked to be ready to go..

I will not present my Hp numbers yet but I'll give you my Torque.. As I have more to gain and the Dyno tuning is not finished.. We have a problem maybe with the Dfi.. No big thing if so.. The fuel pump sometimes not works with the Dfi, could be a driver.. A driver over a pump problem or a wiring problem.. But When the 7730 is put back in it begins to work.. That does not mean it proves the computers.. Fact is fact and when is all set you know what's really going on.. So here was my Torque Number 442..

I wish you all the best luck Saturday Untill every thing is totaly set I won't be running.. I do need to start packing my place as I am Moving to a New Place, 4 master bedrooms is nicer than 1 master 2 bedrooms ttl3.. I love my new home here.. I'll have to adapt to the new place I guess..

So that's why when I drove the car it would spend the tires easily. You sneaky devil I'm still going to whip that stroker *** when I line up with it

Im sorry Allen you did not catch on.. Read the the post again..
I did not want to post my hp numbers as there is possible of 100 to gain.. again this is 442 tq only brought out to 5,500.. once all said the torque could stay right about there.. But the Hp will be right there in there also.. Once I get the dfi back we finish tuning on the wide band. Then we hit the track..

For got to mention all problems need to solved also..

Pretty nice Brandon! You should be around 400 rwhp by theory. That should put you ahead of the pack ... if driven properly.

Now I think everyone understands why I want to be fully ready when I make that pass.. I did not know I was going to make this much power to the Ground! Thanks GPL...

I don't know about that.. But I have a feeling I'll be right there On Top.. Now James Im wondering.. Maybe he has gone to far.. Then Jerry all he has to do is run that block.. I don't even think I can go that fast with this bigger motor.. So I'll have to draw the line soon, I don't need that fast of car.. Nice 12 flat car that can handle me getting in the throttle if possible is good enough for me..

Branden you have to shoot for a 11.99 pass. 12 seconds won't do. Allen

Of course that will just take a lil more tweaking with the Dfi.. You should see my graphs.. They are Nice.. Another thing.. I can put all my information in Gen7 and work with it there.. Make a transfer.. Back.. And see where all the readings are recorded from the dfi.. All into files nothing lost.. Well unless you know what happens..
